Sometime back it was discussed that I wanted to build one, and some asked for me to report back. Used a cva scout 400 legend and had a breech plug installed. Went with direct ignition on this. I’ve used modules before and would have had to rounded up an extractor for this one. H4198 and 200 gr fury star tip 2p and a wool wad. First trip was to get the scope sighted, trijicon 3-12 Huron, and see how it would do. Averaged around 2830fps. I was pretty happy with these results.

I wasn’t hardly finished as I wanted to add a suppressor. Finally got approved Friday for a hybrid 46dtm and had a slight break in the rain today. Same load as above shot 2790 with the added suppressor. Moved the scope and didn’t shoot for groups but I will when the weather is better. I didn’t bring enough primers with me for this quick session. First shot was 2” high, so I adjusted 2” and shot 1” low for the next 2 shots. Last shot hit left of bullseye on bottom left target.

Overall I’m pretty pleased. I like tinkering with these and may play with my load a little and see if it’ll improve, but for strictly killing deer to 200 yards it’s good to go.
