Any companies make a .300 Win Mag with a barrel around the 20” range? I’ve been lookin at the higher end companies not finding it wondering if anyone has any recommendations, or would custom be the only route?

I don’t think most companies make them that short because you won’t gain much over a .308 in that barrel length.

20" pipe......be better off with a wsm or saum case. If you're going short for suppressor, I understand that but that short a barrel you're really gonna have to redo all load work as powder choice could foul your can very quickly. 300wm I'd go 22" minimum with can, 24" minimum without.

Kind of curious why the o.p. was looking for a setup like this? Not a common setup from my limited knowledge of that caliber. Always looking to learn though.

People keep saying this but from all the quickload data I’ve convinced people to send me (I don’t have it unfortunately) it’s not true.

Comparing equal barrel length the higher powder cartridges still out run .308s by a large margin. The only comparison is to a long barreled 308 which is nonsense as if you wanted the long barrel you already have one in the magnums.

I want the hard hit from .300 Win Mag to take to Alaska but the compact to be easier maneuvered through some brush.... also hit a whitetail if I feel like it up in the Adirondacks and not completely destroy the animal
