300 PRC thoughts…

I own a 26” 300 prc and shoot 245 bergers over n570 at 2930 fps. It hammers at long range due to the very high bc and excellent accuracy. That being said, I would not want a light weight rifle in this combo as the recoil is significant, even with a muzzle brake. Mine current 300prc is 15lbs with a brake and is comfortable. My prior 300prc rifle was under 10lbs, with a carbon fiber barrel. While the light weight rifle was very accurate, it was challenging to maintain that accuracy due to the heavy recoil leaving no room for imprecise shooting set ups.
Do you have a brake on it? My 300 prc is 22 inches, 10.8 pounds and pushing a 245 at 2775. The recoil is handleable for sure, but unbraked or suppressed would be a handful. I havent even wanted to try it.

A good brake makes all the difference in the world. The factory Fierce NIX brake did not impress and muzzle jump on the sub 7lb rifle was horrible. A SRS Ti Pro 4 fixed that problem in a hurry. The SRS line of muzzle brakes are the the most impressive brakes I’ve ever used.

Love my 300 prc .. shooting 168 ttsx at 3293 with H1000… this is trying to salvage some meat from 420 yards on an elk

215s certainly worked in my rifle and killed with no drama. Decided I wasn't hunting beyond 1200 yards so I sold it. It was an Alamo Precision carbon rifle. 24" barrel with suppressor was a lot longer than I cared to pack around for 5-600 yard shots.

Disclaimer: I am not the most well read on calibers.

I had a 300PRC built in 2020 as I felt it was the best combination of factory ammo options with upside for reloading. I have a 22" barrel, but am yet to throw a can on it. I have the TBAC Ultra 7 that I could use, but have been thinking about buying a magnus for it.

Jump on it. It’ll be a year at the end of the month since mine have been ordered.
