I am so DONE with this, lol. I have spent untold hours studying!
You should be done with it because in the end, it probably dosent matter which one you choose. You aren’t going to be able to tell if one is louder or quieter unless you compare the extreme ends of what’s available.

Any of the silencers available today are going to improve your experience so pick one that has the weight and dimensions you’re after. If you like the brand, then great.

Everyone is talking about high backpressure suppressors and OP indicated it's for 7.5" and 16" ARs.

I'm semi suppressed AR ignorant but for your uses id get a lower backpressure can. Id take a hard look at the CAT DD. The ODB you have listed is longer and heavier and will be over 10 ounces with a hub adapter.

I was initial looking at K sized suppressors in my search. I was also looking at high flow suppressors. Here's why I stopped. A K can does not work as well with a short barrel. Also, high flow cans do not suppress sound as well. My rifles do not see rapid fire. Therefore I chose to go with a can that exhibits better sound suppression at the expense of more back pressure.

I am glad you brought this up though. It's a discussion i would like more feedback on.

Then my vote is CAT DD and you'll be a cun+hair over goal weight. Almost all the CAT cans have somewhat reduced back pressure but may not be considered "Flow through" yet they still seem to get high marks on suppression for each given class. Rapid fire is besides the point. You dont want a shit ton of back pressure whether you're single feeding or doing mag dumps. My factory 14.5" BCM with an U7 was beating the shit out of itself to the point the buffer weight started falling apart within a couple hundred rounds. Thats a gassy setup without an AGB but still, it's not a 7.5" AR like youre talking about.

Your ARs are not going to be quiet with supers regardless of what can you put on them.

Honestly there’s not a bad CAT can - you just need to pair the right one for the right platform. There are cans that flow better for less gas to the face, and there are ones that prioritize noise reduction. I own the SR, WB, and JL and had messed with a few others. They are constantly evolving their lineup which throws some people off - but it’s because they are updating their platforms rather than ride out the same design for years (AAC/dead air etc).

If it was just a hunting gun- the Jolene s is a great balance between weight and hunting noise reduction. The CAT JL is THE quietest suppressor I’ve ever used on a bolt gun, but a little long for what I personally want. But for ARs I’d look at CAT DD/ODB and some of their new items coming up

I put a polonium in jail last week and a cat Noah today. I have several 22 and 6mm bolt guns to try and one 11.5” ar that currently wears a scythe. I guess ill swap them around some and use whatever seems best on the ar and the others on bolt guns.

I've got the Omega 36M and really like the ability to use it on multiple guns. I've only used it in the short configuration and while I'm fairly new to suppressors there's certainly no going back

Agreed. Just picked up my Noah for use on a 6arc and 556. Couldn't help it and picked up a WB this afternoon. My approval took 24 hrs. Hoping the next is as fast.

For my bolt gun, will most likely go Ti XC. But, i'll give the JL quite the look too.

Would like to hear your thoughts on the Noah after you get a chance to shoot it some. I did a trust so mine may not be turned loose as fast.
