30-06 light-for-caliber mono options/loads

151gr absolute hammer, lapua brass, Varget…3100-3250 depending on your tolerance for “safety”

This is in a factory tikka 22” I believe

I’m thinking about Hammer 124gr Hunter bullets over H4895 for a slightly reduced load in 308 win. Very similar to the circumstances you describe. 100-200yrds and in. I don’t reload much anymore but thinking I’ll try to get in the 2800ft/s ballpark.

Hammer 124s aren’t explosive. I have had some decent sized holes exiting but only on hard angle shots where it exited through the shoulder or something similar. Normal broadside shots through the vitals there’s nothing to worry about.

Long-throated Husqvarna 30-06 with TTSX 130 H4895 Fed 210 in Lapua brass: 3404

But I wouldn't load that hot normally. Going 1 grain down put it around 3240. My rifle having a long-throat will greatly change the pressure so don't go based on me because I'm an outlier. :)

Start at 52.5 gr H4895 and work up slow.

Lots of other options here:

6.5 Creed is 143 @ 2650 or so. 30-06 w/130s @ 3k+ will be more than enough ... Federal 7mm RM 140 factory copper loads are about 3200, so you'll be just shy of that for energy at short ranges. Keeping it under 200 yards? Send it. They're fun.

Cheers,
-mox
