3 gun set up for North America

Since no rimfire or shotgun per your question.....I'd really only need one centerfire rifle for big game hunting.

My .375 Ruger Guide Gun, enough power for any land animal on earth and perfectly accurate to 300 yards which is about as far as I so far think I should take a shot at a living animal.

But I love my Browning Bar in .308, and my Ruger Mini 14 with a WML makes a great home defense gun.

375 H&H Sako Kodiak

It would take some thinning of the herd to get to three but I am really partial to these depending on the situation!!

16" .223 RSS
18" 6CM tikka
16" .350 tikka

That gets you more legal states than anything posted so far. Truthfully, I could also see a 6arc and .350 combo as well for a two gun setup.

That is a good point about the straight wall states. I forgot about them but couldn’t I use a slug gun or ML for those states?

You could, and people did for many years. But, since you only need one rifle to hunt everywhere else(mostly), a 6cm and a .350 give you all you need, with a .223 left over for practice. Or 6arc/.350 for a two guns setup with reasonable priced ammo and barrel life for the 6arc.

I have two suppressed 16" tikkas - one .223 and one .350. The only reason I would add the 6cm/arc was if I needed to shoot over 200yards in a state that has a .243 min.

While I get this may not work for most people, in my opinion the "straight wall states" are all much better if you bow-hunt them vs. rifle hunt. A lot more opportunities going that route, IMHO.

Only thing is that doesn't leave much for elk and griz... now if you traded the 6cm for a 7prc, I feel that would cover better
