I'm about to take delivery on a 28 as well. Proof is building mine. I've got 5 loads ready to test. The two Nosler factory offerings, (160 AB's and 175 LR AB's) and three different loads with Reloader 26. (LR AB's, ELD-X, and LR TTSX) can't wait to start the testing....

Bottom metal is pacific tool and gauge , no poi shift at all on barrel I've enjoyed shooting it when I've had the chance , still gonna play with a few powders ,the retumbo has been accurate in this rifle I ran it up to 3100 fps and started to see a extracter mark around there backed it down 100 feet and it shoots great , I'm gonna order some n-570 I have high hopes for this powder it looks good on paper anyway

I'm interested in seeing what 570 does!

I'm building a 28 now and have lots of 570 for the 338. So hopefully, it makes the 195s sing!

The go to powder with the 28 and 195 bergers is RE33

I used 33 on the 300 project. I had 70 FPS difference from 25 degrees to 75 degrees. So I won't use it when I'm shooting long. Would it work, probably? But why worry about if I don't have too.

I'm willing to bet, 570 will be right with 33 with less temp issues.

I didnt know it was that temp sensitive Ryan. I just know that Ryan Pierce has played with that combo more than anyone that I know of and thats what he recommends to all his rifle buyers. I dont know if hes done any temp testing though...

I keep hearing that is not sensitive. But with RLs track record, I double checked it.

I asked Alliant for load data using R26 in my 28 Nosler build. I also asked about temp sensitivity of their powders. Here is their response...

Eric,
Alliant has three temp stable propellants by their chemistry. These are AR-Comp, Reloder-16 and Reloder-23.* Reloder-26 by its chemistry is not temp stable, but in most applications it behaves much like a temp stable propellant.* The Reloder-33 is not at temp stable propellant. That being said, all of our propellants need to pass, by lot, testing procedures in a wide range of temperatures, wider than any self-respecting human would be hunting or shooting under.
As for load data for the 28 Nosler, Alliant has no tested load data for this cartridge at this time.
I will submit your request to the engineering lab for possible future development. But, there is no timetable as to when this may be looked at for development.
Thanks,
Duane V.

Having read all that....I feel that I'll probably load some R33 and use it for barrel break in. Then I'll probably test it for temp sensitivity before I do very much load work.

I'm don't have any magic. I'm just a nobody. But they probably know that any info they give you will be posted on Rokslide.

I lost 58 fps with R26 going from 54 to 25 degrees in a 22 Creedmoor. Two different loads but same lots tested at both temps.

I'll have access to a chrono this week and will do some testing for FPS difference with temps.

I'm using Retumbo and it seems to be pretty stable with the 195s.
