270 vs 243

I believed I narrowed my next rifle down to a browning blr or browning bar. Well that and a new bow but hey, we’re in the firearms section.


Logic tells me the 270 will have more felt recoil. This does not bother me as I enjoy a thump,
I also underweight bullet weight plays a part in the variable, buttttt, which one hits harder on the shooter. I’m thinking just get the 243 as I have a 270, but if the 270 doesn’t feel as sharp I’ll own 2

Are you asking if a 243 kicks less than a 270, in the same rifle? The answer to that is yes, it absolutely kicks less, substantially.

It’s roughly 12-14 (.243) versus 15-17 (.270) foot pounds of felt recoil, assuming the same rifle weight and typical bullets and charges for each.
