Has anyone been able to get a 26 Nosler to shoot accurately and consistently?
My experienced crew has built 4 of them so far. Two of the builds were my personal rifles that I spent countless hours trying to tune for low ES as well as small groups. The best that I could achieve was 1" groups and 40 fps ES. Unless I dropped the loads way down to 3,000 fps and at that point I might as well shoot my 6.5 SAUM.
All rifles had 24-26" PROOF, Bartlein, or Brux barrels. All where built on Defiance or BAT actions.
At 3,200-3,400 fps they all shot very erratic with high BC bullets and temp stable powder.
My theory is that this is simply too much powder behind 143-156gr bullets.
My 6.5 SAUMs however perform exceptionally well with the same bullets providing 2,950-3,200 fps from 20-26" barrels.
