I've shot a lot of deer and feral goats with the 68 BTHP. It does fine, but if I was on a hunt that was important to me, I'd switch to the 73 ELDM (those are the only .223 loads I shoot).

It will be his first deer hunt, maybe Antelope too. I want to just buy a bunch of Frontier stuff in bulk and stick with the same ammo that he will shoot all summer. If I have to switch it's not the end of the world.

How about the 75 gr ELDM?

If your question is in response to the above list, the 75 ELD-M would likely perform similarly to the 73 ELD-M but was omitted since the subject was gas guns and the 75 ELD-M won't fit in a 223 AR-15 magazine.

Many were quite some time ago, before the tmk, so probably 100 were with the 69gr smk(non-tipped). Probably 10 with miscellaneous hornady soft points. The remainder more recently with the 77 tmk. Doesn’t make them any more dead, but the 77 tmk is much more devastating. Haven’t went past 300 yards, mostly 200 and under.

I have yet to run into the bull that can shake off a good 224” bullet.

If you did that and ran a 22 cal. with a 6 creed, the game warden would never know. I put 224 cal and my .243 bullets side by side and there is so little difference that you can hardly tell.

Yep. I would have done that for Alberta hunting but they saw the light and legalized 22 centerfires.

It would be nice to choose what you want but the .gov always knows what’s best for us.

Handgun regs are a bit silly for hunting. Where I’m at I can use one for hunting but it has to be a 6” barrel. I guess it has more wallop and energy than a more common 5” barrel.

No, but my point is, there is so little difference that it won't matter. Some say 22 cal. is too small and a 6mm is superior . My point is , a guy can hardly tell the difference when looking at them side by side and seems there is no performance difference neither. But, not , it's not worth getting busted over , but likely never will cause a warden can't tell the difference neither. But oh well, I still just use my .243 Win and it works fine.
