Does anyone know if the Black Hills 223 and 556 factory loads use the same brass?
More on the 62 grn Maker TRex. 3,100 MV
2 deer. No blood trail at all from either of them. Doe made it 10 yards, stag about 50 yards.
145 yards neck-ish shot quartering towards me. Small Fallow deer doe (white tail size).

Barnes R&D told me 2200 for caliber and half which isn’t much at all, ironically they said 1800 on LRX but the standard is 1.1x expansion which is unacceptable. I think it’s the same velocity threshold they just moved the goal post. 1.5x .224 is basically a .308 FMJ.Do you know what their lower velocity expansion numbers are?
Often. Most weeks. 74 deer this year.Do you hunt every single day?
You’d have to ask them what pressures they load at. Lots of “5.56” loadings are still same pressure and different head-stamped brass.Does anyone know if the Black Hills 223 and 556 factory loads use the same brass?
I use RCBS and LEE seaters. They dont leave a mark or anything unless your trying to cram the bullet on top of too much Varget. Is there a particular best seating die for 77TMKs?
You are blessed. I'll bet if everyone on this site could do the same thing a lot of the arguing about this vs. that, big vs. small, etc would disappear and we'd all be twiddling our thumbs wondering what to talk about.Often. Most weeks. 74 deer this year.
Black Hills loads 5.56 with proprietary powders to very stout velocities. Their 70gr GMX loading leaves my 14.5 at almost 2800fps, for example. You’d have to ask them what pressures they load at. Lots of “5.56” loadings are still same pressure and different head-stamped brass.
AAC (palmetto armory) had some TMK in stock this week for $.90/round. Pretty sure 73 grain ELDM is the factory option you can buy for hornady. Either workI just got my new 223 and was hoping to shoot eldx but had not realized they dont load it for 223. Given TMKs are unobtainium in factory loads is the 75g eldm a solid choice.

I do not. I don't buy .223 ammunition and am ignorant. Jeff is a great guy and will be happy to tell you, or someone who works there will, if you just give them a call.Do you guys know if the brass is the same between Black Hills 5.56 and Black Hills .223? I'm not worried about the head stamp, but I'm wondering if the capacity is identical and they can be used interchangeably without a POI difference?
I use the Redding micrometer seating with the VLD stem, as I also load 80 ELDm and ELDx with that same die. As stated, unless on a compressed load of Varget, it has been good, no marks on the bullets. Is there a particular best seating die for 77TMKs?
Where are you located? I’ll show you 3 guns that shoot them 1 MOA or better tomorrow.I've never seen a rifle that would shoot 77TMK in person. Tried it through every rifle I own, and it shoots about like a bad lot of M193. 2.5-3.5moa. These are guns that will sling X135 and MK262 into 1.5-1.8moa groups.
*10 shot groups, 100 yards.
Mine shoots a 10 shot in MOA or better as well.I’ll show you 3 guns that shoot them 1 MOA or better tomorrow.
