Any .22 centerfire, for that matter. I'd be real curious to see what a 77gr TMK would do out of something like a .22 creedmoor...Fellas, I’m here for the autopsy/post hunt results… surely, someone has some to share? Trying to live vicariously through you gents… and will be for a while. I think .224 Valk should get an honorable inclusion in this thread as well ;-).
It’s been mentioned pages back. I believe over a certain velocity they become very explosive.Any .22 centerfire, for that matter. I'd be real curious to see what a 77gr TMK would do out of something like a .22 creedmoor...
Accurate but very slow like 2530 out of a 23" tikka that shoots the tmk/8208 at 2800.View attachment 412105
Found and bought the only loaded .223 Rem 77tmk I’ve ever seen. Just need a .223 Tikka and a 10x SWFA and I’ll have the Rokslide special. Bought 5 boxes, they had quite a few left. Anyone have experience with these?
Do you remember what the penetration was like at that velocity? I'm guessing no exit?I posted a few pics of what the 77 at 3150 out of a 22/250 does to deer a fair way back in this thread

That's why they have he 24 cal minimumI would bet there is a potential use for that bullet in Washington!
I heard there is a lot of Varmints up there.
we have the same limit in Alberta, but good news is you can get close to this 'do more with less powder formula' with 6mm-ARC or 6.5 Grendel, they burn ~30 grains of powder and are also 'AR Cartridges' and they are the most versatile of all the AR cartridges imo just because you can hunt them on most of the continent but also, especially with the 6mm, the bullets range from down into .223 weight ranges but up over .243 weight ranges too, the 6.5 bullets are more down to the .243 weights and up to the lighter weight 7-08/.270 range, either way .223/6mm/6.5mm have a lot of bullet choices and flexibility, can't go wrongReally wish Washington didn't have a .24 caliber minimum. Would be a great blacktail round.
