I searched but didn’t find much. Does anyone have info on how the 75 ELDM does at lower impact velocities? Maybe 1800-2200?
Phantom NAS3 77tmk ammo was in stock. I ordered some to try out. They still have some hot rod 69 TMK and 77 OTM ammo in stock. I put in for an in-stock message for the NAS3 75 ELDM to try out too.

The phantom nas3 77tmk was not worth the money in my rifle... pretty much the same velocity as the Stand1 77tmk (not nas3) ammo I have. But with the downside that the "brass" is too sticky in a straight-pull AR, and won't extract without a ton of force.Phantom NAS3 77tmk ammo was in stock. I ordered some to try out. I have a few bolt guns and a couple of AR's I can try it with. Was less than BH 77tmk ammo. Just something to try.The phantom nas3 77tmk was not worth the money in my rifle... pretty much the same velocity as the Stand1 77tmk (not nas3) ammo I have. Where is the best deal on the BH 77tmk ammo?FYI- Black Hills is going to have a price increase this year. It will result in approx +$30 per case of 500 for the TMK and OTM. The increase is not limited to 5.56, but those numbers would be the most relevant to this thread. It has not rolled out just yet, so if you're on the fence and want to save some $, now is the time.

What was the internal damage like on the 75gr hp. Did it have a fairly long neck lengthTried a couple of new (to me) bullets:
80 ELD-M @ ~2,375 impact velocity. Lower 1/3 behind shoulder, slight quartering away impact. .223ish hole going in, about penny, maybe nickle size exit. 30 yard run but decent blood trail starting where he fell.

Hornady Frontier 75 BTHP (I believe the same as their TAP bullet). About 2,440fps impact. Essentially same impact as above.
Couldn't even find the entrance, but exit was large and blood trail was good. Maybe 40 yard run.

80 ELD-M again. Same angle as above, higher impact. 2,300ish impact. No exit, bullet lodged in offside shoulder blade process after passing through bottom of spine.

Interesting to me, the larger sow on the left was hit with a Hornady 55 SP @ about 200 yards running, probably about 2,250ish impact velocity. That bullet performed about as well as the 80 ELD-M.

Recovered 80 ELD-M jacket from shoulder blade next to the recovered 55SP (on right).

Good question. It was getting dark, so unfortunately I didn't spend much time checking details, but... It didn't do 77TMKish type damage and did seem to open a ways in. Still made a decent wound track and almost seemed like it was just getting going, destruction wise, as it exited. What was the internal damage like on the 75gr hp. I don’t think there’s a deal to be had anywhere, BH has a set price and that’s what it is.Where is the best deal on the BH 77tmk ammo?

In my group of shooters I would say we shoot more handgun ammo than 22 centerfire, far more rimfire than 22 centerfire. Once we sight in our 22 centerfires and get used to them we use them for coyote hunting generally but some of us hunt deer with them occasionally. However the 6MM's get a lot of use also. There is no match at my club where a 223 is the best choice. We don't do three gun but plates and bowling pin shoots so a 45acp is what centerfire round I shoot the most of . I put out a lot of rimfire rounds playing rimfire silhouette . The last three days I have shot some 150 rounds of 45 Colt out of a Ruger Vaquero and a Contender Carbine. I know of no one who isn't involved in some kind of match shooting that comes even close to shooting 1500 rounds of centerfire a year. I would say the 223/5.56 are very commonly owned rifles but most of us don't burn a lot of ammo through them or plink with them. We shoot a little steel at my property out to 200 yards but after ringing it 20 or so times the fun wears off. I would say the average non match shooter probably puts less than 60 rounds a year through each of his centerfire rifles. My experience is the opposite of yours. I don’t know any match shooters but most of my people shoot a lot. And most of what they shoot is 22 cal.
such a pessimist. maybe I can help you see the cup half full..I don’t think there’s a deal to be had anywhere, BH has a set price and that’s what it is.
Crazy, Im off to a real slow start this year but have double that through multiple rifles already. Just cant shoot very long with sub zero highs like this weekend. We shoot a little steel at my property out to 200 yards but after ringing it 20 or so times the fun wears off.
