What an incredible thread that challenges and disproves a lot of "common Knowledge" myths.

Why the two different calibers out of curiosity?
Aram Von Benedikt shot the bull after jonpall shot it with his Rokslide Special. Why the two different calibers out of curiosity?
Was hunting with my brother who had the 300 (as I always used to as well). Neither of us cared who got it as long as it went down hence the multiple shots. He didn't react to either shot really, he just took a few steps and dropped dead a few seconds after the shots. The 300 was not suppressed. Why the two different calibers out of curiosity?
Teamwork! Slap hands!!Was hunting with my brother who had the 300 (as I always used to as well). Neither of us cared who got it as long as it went down hence the multiple shots. That’s 28 seconds of my life I can’t get back…

Your tenth post! Congrats! The classifieds are now your oyster.0 chance I’d use 223 for anything bigger than a coyote
Why?0 chance I’d use 223 for anything bigger than a coyote
None of the above posts were related to your post.I’m not sure the above post was related to me, but I read every page and understood the info previously posted on all 580 pages. I had a brain tumor and surgery two years ago at age 38. I have been fairly recoil sensitive since the surgery. This set up is perfect for my hunting needs, very thankful for an accurate, light recoiling rifle.
No you contributed useful information unlike the person saying they would barely use a 223 for varmints.I’m not sure the above post was related to me, but I read every page and understood the info previously posted on all 580 pages. Zero chance I’d use anything bigger than a 223 on a deer or elk unless legally required in the area.0 chance I’d use 223 for anything bigger than a coyote

For me I’ve never saw it as needed. It does open doors to bullets I like to shoot and doesn’t close doors to the shorter bullets if you’re so inclined.the fact a 1:8" or better barrel is thought to be needed to kill a damn animal is pure comedy
conventional wisdom downsized...
