More and more people are recording their hunts, either with cameras, or in many cases, guys just pulling out a phone when their partner is shooting at an animal. So it’s not unreasonable to think, if these bullet failures are common, someone has caught a well placed shot on film, and then been able to show the animal did not die nearby. So by your conclusion the only way a bullet can fail is by not having a dead animal? If that is the case it would be pretty hard to ever prove a bullet failure. I dont necessarily disagree with that, but if the animal was not found dead it could be said that it was just a bad shot.
Many videos exist showing small caliber successes; but I don’t think anyone has shown a video of good bullet placement, followed by “bullet failure” resulting in a live animal running off.
