22 Creedmoor Magnum (+ Peak )

I can't imagine cup and core bullets holding together at 22 Creed +Peak velocities. Hornady bullets already fall apart like a Chinese motorcycle out of 6 Creeds in standard brass. However, I'd be happy if I were wrong

Shouldn't have any issue in 16-18" barrels. Like right now I'm at 2938 in my 16". I think the 24" test barrels state like 3100 and change. So it's only asking another 200 fps over that maybe a little more. As long as you're not using a super fast twist.

So what kind of powder that's currently available could even reach close to 80,000 psi with the given case capacity? I've got to use a drop tube just to fit the book max of n565. Then it's compressed. Did they come up with a special powder blend or a new powder? Or just using maybe a Staball style powder or ball powder filled to the case mouth?

Its probably a faster powder that takes less of to hit the peak pressure.

On one of the pxt barrel threads on another site a guy was having better results with a relatively fast powder for his 28 nosler.

Oh yeah that makes sense. Instead of slow burning magnum powders dropping down to something for burn rate of a smaller sized case then adding more powder.

Does Quick Loads calculate this?

Been a while since I spun QL up, but should be able to adjust the max pressure variable, at the least I know you can select a gr weight and if its over pressure itll still give data just says warning do not use.
