I'm curious what kind of speeds you could get out of an 88 at 80k psi.
I also think a 10 twist shooting varmint bullets would be rad.
I’m considering in the short term a couple possibilities for a 22 CM + Peak
1) neck down 6.5 CM + Peak
2) if 6 CM + Peak comes available next,
neck that down
3) wait for 22 CM + Peak
Right now I’m leaning option 1.
I found a source for dies & bushings, so I’ll start there.
I will have to check. I assume so as they are +peak bushing dies. Are they carbide?
That would make it a NO GO for me then if any compromising of the case was needed.I think that the problem that you are going to run into is at the shoulder/neck junction. When stepping down 6.5 Creed to 22 Creed in brass cases (when we still had to do that), it required neck turning, specifically to get rid of the bulge that is created at the junction. If you have a mini lathe type neck turner, you may be able to do it, but it will depend on the hardness of your cutter and with the knowledge that you will be removing the coating.
My thought is to run a PXT barrel regardless. This combo would be cool but you’d better be shooting monolithic bullets. Or maybe one of those new proof gain twist barrels. Bullets spin apart with a regular 22creed.
