Rugers are sort of the standard and you can do a lot of aftermarket stuff to them down the road.

At one point it was pretty easy to find them on gunbroker for like 359.00

I've had a S&W M&P22Compact since 2019 now and after several thousand rounds I'd buy it again.

I mean, I prefer Ruger MKIIs and always will - showing my age, probably - but for what a new one cost I'd happily buy the M&P again. I'll warn you that mine does sometimes have the slide lock hang up mid-magazine, but it isn't a problem for a plinker.

I'm in the process of paying an absurd sum to have my old MKII threaded to bring it into the 21st century. I suspect the M&P will get shot much less after that.

Taurus TX22 is actually a nice gun. Taurus has stepped it up over the last decade and have worked hard to overcome their past quality issues. The GSG 1911s are also fun suppressed and they come with threaded barrels. I’ve also shot the S&W Victory threaded model with a suppressor and it’s fun too.

Looking to add a .22 pistol to my collection. Figured it would be a good niche gun for when I’m riding around in my atv during grouse season. I’ve been particularly fond of the Ruger MKIV and have been intrigued by the 22/45 lite series. Any feedback on these two particular models would be greatly appreciated.

I just got a 22/45 and it's run very well with a variety of ammo. The beauty with a 4.5" 22lr is that most everything is subsonic so you don't need to buy the suppressed ammo. Save that for the rifle.

I use a fn 502. Pretty much only shoot it suppressed. Feed it bulk whatever...

Its main use is finishing predators while night hunting along with a little plinking.

i picked up the ruger 22/25 tactical model #40190. it's usually under $350. eats most ammo no problem. doesn't like to cycle at 15F or so, with subsonics but neither do i. now that winter is over, works great.

Expect to have cycling issues related to the need to clean more frequently with any semi auto suppressed 22.

I am very fond of the TX22, Ive played with most of the modern 22lr pistols on the market and it might just be the best out there. Specifically the competition model, Ive run probably 500-600 rounds thru mine at this point without a stoppage.
