22 cal semi auto pistol to use with suppressor?

Any experience running them at say -20?

My 22/45 will not magazine feed below like 10f or so. Magazine spring doesnt push hard enough.
Idk about -20, but i carried my tx22 as a trapping pistol for a winter. Running around the farm in an open cab side by side in -5 with it in a chest holster, it functioned as expected..

What chest holster?
Do you have the compact or the full size?

Out of the box, the Buckmark has the better trigger than the Mk IV. Either are excellent choices.

100% agree. Buckmark trigger is better, but the ease of cleaning is what made me keep my Ruger over the Buckmark. I swapped the trigger on the Ruger for a Tandem Kross - not quite as good as the Buckmark, but better than factory.

have one of those too, w/ holosun pid+ and vortex defender ccw enclosed
it shoots good, i have no complaints - i run mostly 40gr cci subs thru it

suppressed 22lr pistols are my favorite if you cant tell..
How do you like the grip in comparison to the Taurus?
Size and ergos? Thanks

My TX22 would not function with my Sico Sparrow. There is too little clearance between the barrel and slide, so the underside of the slide would drag on the barrel when returning to battery. Even after trips back for service explaining the issue, it wouldn't work. It was reliable without a can. I sold it and am glad I did. The Sig 322 is worth the extra $ and probably my favorite handgun. It's much more accurate too.

Thanks for the info. I was about to start the hunt for a TX22… that’s a bummer.

You have them in stock on your site?

Where I shoot there's a ton of rattle snakes. I'd love to have a suppressed 22 on me for walking to my target.

How was the suppressor causing the barrel to drag on the slide? Weight in the end of the barrel?

Maybe things have improved but in my experience, the 22 pistols from companies like Walter, Taurus, Glock etc are pieces of junk, cheaply made, terrible magazines, I think the entire slide of the Glock 22 pistol is made from plastic. Walthers I’ve had were all made of cheap pot metal, versions from dog sauer, Taurus, etc were no better.

Why anybody would get anything other than a Ruger 22/45 or mark v (whatever version is out now) is beyond me.

Full size, Coletac varmint wrangler, I also have a custom made leather holster that clips into molle on the side of my pack
I was running that this winter to. Really great holster.

I'll have to look at it. My use is for ptarmagain and grouse off the sled when we see them. I switched to a pump shotgun this winter when I couldn't get the pistol to function 90% of the time, but it's way too big unless I'm on the expedition.

Yes. There was so little gap between the fixed barrel and bottom of the slide that it would cause drag. It took me a bit to figure out the issue. By holding the can down while moving the slide I figured it out. I thought about filing it out but there is very little 'meat' there to begin with. Maybe some runs are fine but mine wasn't. I called Taurus and tried to explain because it is one of their best guns but was told to "not use the can" which defeated the purpose of using solely as a can host.

Not sure if you'd be interested in an in-between, but I was looking for something small and handy around here, for general utility. Something for snakes mostly, but also rabbit or game-birds of opportunity - not a pistol, but not a big long gun. Picked up a Rossi Tuffy in .410 that's been surprisingly useful and handy to have around. Super light, small, but usable out to .410 ranges with whatever load you're using.
