You dissed Toyota on Pride Month? If they did, I would have bought one and saved a lot of money. Instead, I picked up my new F250 diesel just 2 days ago![]()
Still got the Tacoma, but Toyota is honest in what they build, 1/4 and half ton pickups. The F150 is the one that identifies as something else, and Ford puts the makeup on them and alters the parts to make it appear like they are something else, something more, but they only fool the inexperienced. You dissed Toyota on Pride Month?
How many F150s have you owned and tested?Still got the Tacoma, but Toyota is honest in what they build, 1/4 and half ton pickups. I never said anything about those guys, I only know the ones who order exactly what they want. What does one need to do to safely tow and stop a 13k trailer with a tundra?Payload capacity includes tongue weight. For an F150 to get 13k tow rating, it needs every applicable factory upgrade available, i.e. tow/haul package, max tow axle upgrade, and the shortest factory rear end gearing available, or it needs aftermarket help. On the highest tow-rated models, Ford still caps the tongue weight at 1400 lb, which barely meets the suggested low end threshold for a 13k trailer.
Ford provides all of this info in a pamphlet online, and they have a website where you can enter a VIN and get the exact rating numbers, but in their advertising, Ford only mentions the highest possible numbers (tow upgrades). Guys go to the dealer and buy a pickup without all of the upgrades, and they think they have a rig that can tow 12k or take 2k in the bed. It can’t.
