That is awesome, dad! He might be a bit spoiled joining the 60" Club before reaching 10yo ...but I'd bet he's thankful for his dad getting him out there with you...memories for a lifetime!! Congratulations to both of you!

Spent a couple of weeks guiding for a YT Outfitter and when i got home it was time to find a freezer filler of my own. 35 hours from leaving the house to getting home again.

We all hang our antlers on the wall to display our hunt prowess. Most of us get caught up in antler size and dimensions. In so doing, we miss the point. In truth, the antlers are simply a representation of the true trophy.

When all is said and done and you have those antlers displayed, in whichever manner you choose, you will sit back and remember the process of inserting yourself into his environment and maneuvering into position to make a clean and ethical kill. And, at that point, you will recognize it is the memory of that process that is the real trophy. You will carry that trophy with you everywhere you go.

Congrats on a successful hunt and the memories that go with it.

You’re comparing a Shiras to Alaska/Yukon moose, 2 very different animals. That’s a beautiful bull and absolutely nothing wrong with it
