Been thinking about going OTC in Montana for a few years, but I really have the itch. I know it is super unlikely to bag one but I just want to hunt. Anyone want to join me as a hunting buddy? I am open to where to go. I am 39, in reasonable shape, one hell of a navigator and looking for high country adventure. I will rough it alone if I have to, wouldn't be the first time for non-resident solo adventure into the back country, but I pays to have someone watching your back. Hit me back.

I’m sure you’re a great guy, but your post reads like something on a dating site.

I’ve done the UL’s by myself and with friends - good luck and God’s speed. The last time I was in the UL’s was ‘23 and it was crazy crowded. Saw a ton of people.

I hear you, figured it was worth a try before going it solo

Honestly, you probably won’t get a partner that has experience in there. That then leads to the situation where there’s two new guys in an area that’s held close to the chest by most. If you run into anyone at a trailhead or in the mountains, it’s doubtful you are going to get much help, tips or advice given to a couple new dudes.

Being solo makes a significant difference in someone’s view of you out there. You might end up making friends or getting advice that ends up being super helpful.
