$799 Kimber ascent peak quick range trip

I don’t have sufficient privileges to reply to the existing thread so here’s my 30-06 peak next to my 30-06 hunter.



It came in yesterday. After slapping it all together we ran to the range to test it with the 180gr BXS load that my hunter loves. She is stacking them well. We were in a rush so I didn’t have time to shoot 5rd groups, but it was shooting small trios and pairs while I made adjustments.



Initial impressions are mostly good. The internal mag holds 5rds of 30-06. Accuracy is very promising. The weight is not too light. The not so good include the gritty action which hopefully smooths out with time as well as the extra stiff pad, which wouldn’t matter on some, but on 30-06, it’s a little jarring. My 300wm peak arrives tomorrow. If it has the same pad, it will require some fitting. I wish they had used the same pad they put on the hunters.

Nice grab. I would have picked one of those up if not for the 30-06 and 300 already on the way once it came up.

I see the wood stocked 6.5cm is currently in stock but still not marked down. If it goes to 799, I might have to snag one.

I love all my Kimber's! Was happy to get one in 7-08. They are as nice as a custom in my opinion. I know some say roulette but all mine shoot lights out.

They have 7 different flavors in stock this morning, but only the wood stocked 243 is marked down and it's 999. They also have the wood stocked 6.5 and 308. If either of those goes to 799, I'll have to snag a third.

Someone else posted this in another thread. These Adirondack .308s are fine rifles. For $1,300, it's a good deal for .308 fans.

That is a really nice rifle and would be great with an OTB suppressor. It's a pretty close setup to my 308 Howa Superlite. The Howa is 6lb 2oz with the 2-7x33 and Huxwrx 36 can.
