I'm getting slack on pics but we got a sow raccoon this am and a huge male a few nights ago.

Making 2 dozen trap drags.
Trying a couple different ways to attach the trap and chain, so far 5 chain links of #3 chain appears to be the best option.
Anyone else have a good suggestion for the best way to fasten the quick link and chain?

I weld the swivel to the base of drag. I like to buy old tire chains and use the heavy chain for the first 8 inches on drag for extra weight.
Should we start a 2025-26 trapping thread or keep this one going? I’m late to this thread and don’t want to step on toes.
I would just weld a big nut on the end of the drag and use a split ring thru the nut and chain.I like that idea. I just need to get a good weld, slight chance of getting a wolf, and I want to make sure it'll hold if I'm lucky enough to trap one.
It turned out really good, but need to learn how to do live heads for that complete rug.Deep - Badger rug looks pretty solid. Big diggers on him...
Why were we taught as kids that possums play "possum"? In my experience they hiss and spit like crazy.
