2024/2025 Trapping thread

I double paw caught a coon last night. This is the second coon I caught double paw this year and the other one was also stone cold dead at trap check. I wonder if there is something unique to raccoon respiration or circulation that caused death both times.

I caught a few this season double paw and they were still well aware when I got there in the morning.

Yeah.

We thermal hunted a property a few weeks ago and saw 11 or so. Target was pigs.

At my place it seems like we rounded everybody up and its wandering males passing thru that we are catching.

Im back in the ground.

Coyote came thru and then back again last night on a road I'm grading.

I'm on both sides of the tracks with some gaudy sets.

I’ll throw a few pics up from the season. Played around with the mustelids a bit more this season and took all 5 species NY has to offer us. Barn wall shot was the fall run that was sold a few weeks ago in Canada. Just wrapped up the spring beaver/otter line this past weekend, so time to finish that fur and get it sold and prep to chase fisher hard again next fall. Have 35 beaver worth of bait frozen for fisher sets next fall, should be fun!

outside in my pjs chasing this damn squirrel away from my truck. It hasnt built a nest yet but climbs all over underneath it like a playground jungle gym. It doubled back on me and got stuck in a section of the tube frame it scapmpered into. Not planned, but its definitely trapped

It thrills me to see you folks trapping. I trapped beaver and coyotes in the 70s to pay my way through college. Fur prices were higher and college costs were cheaper. I always wanted have a beaver coat made so when the loonies tried to spray paint me, I could kick the crap out of them.
