Night 67 over here.

It's slow until its not...

I made a cubby set of sorts with a Tomahawk. It sat for a while with traditional baits and we put some leftover spaghetti (beaver sauce) in it yesterday evening.

Pulled traps this morning, since bobcat season ended yesterday. Had this fella waiting for me. Hahaha. Go figure

We fooled him with a DP last night.



He's alive in photo. He was chilling like this when we rolled up.

I got a fox this am. Put the set back together. It’s the same set that tricked the coyote on Friday. No lure on the resets!

It's ok. The pocket hole fills with dirt and is annoying to clean out. It's basically just a hammer for me, that and I'll use the flat stock under my stake heads and pivot like a pry bar to pull stakes out. It works good for that

Is anyone else still trapping?

Our season ended but we shifted to a Predator Management Permit. I’m going to keep going at least until Turkey season starts and maybe take a break.

Anybody using DPs check out the recipe I got from some old school trappers last week.



The vanilla is cheap at the dollar store and you can sprinkle it from the DP to the middle of a road or trail to act as a lure.

Most everything I trap is closed here. I am going to try a week of muskrat trapping at the end of the month.

That raccoon bait looks like a great combination!

I pulled my traps on Monday before the big rain and snow mid week. Ended up with 28 coons, 10 possums and 5 coyotes.
