2023 Whitetail Meat Pole

Didn’t see s**t during the archery season, but had myself one heck of a day yesterday. Got a doe, but more importantly… got my first ever buck.

passed on this guy in the AM and harvested him in the afternoon. Ran out of days and needed to fill my tag.

6.8 western 175gr at 150yrds. Solid broadside should crease pass through. Scary part was we could not locate a blood trail. Found him in the creek and try to back track his route after the shot. Zero blood, what the heck!

Got lucky on this coues in the southern Arizona wind this morning. Shot him right under 500 yards across a canyon, my longest shot ever on deer. Heck of a solo pack out.

I shot and wounded this buck on opening day of TX archery season and then luckily ended up killing him 12 days later. First photo shows both entrances; forward entrance was the first shot. The megameat broadhead and 4” of arrow were underneath the hide on the opposite side. Ramcat used on the 2nd shot.

No, I know it's a contentious topic so I'll avoid much more of the conversation. 2 of the tags used were reauthorized tags from 2022 for animals that tested positive.
