2023 AZ Elk Draw

My cc got hit on the 8th for non-res elk, this weekend the website showed pending, except for tag #, which was 140. Around 9:30am this morning it changed to "no tag" under tag #? Any ideas what this means? I am hoping that I don't have a refund coming my way.

Mine did the same. Either that's the way it's supposed to work or you and I both need to be put under a personal wellness watch....

Think it has to be part of updating portal, may be how software is to enter actual hunt. The tag numbers seemed to come up Sat and posters say have e tags, same thing on our app, and just happened in past hour (yes I need to stop checking so frequently), doesn't make sense because if you had e tag would have gotten it over weekend

I was thinking the same thing. I just need to chill out. I'm planning for 2 different hunts already.

If your card got hit you have a tag. AZGFD has the worst site in the country. It will reflect the correct info eventually.

Well, it could be worse. I have 3 kids I apply for and cannot even get a portal for them at all. Consequently no way to even check until tags are mailed!! Ugh.

Card hit had a tag number and now it states no tag. As usual Arizona just messes with people to stress them out. Worst process in the world. Why is it so hard to have the stuff updated as the cards are hitting like many other states.

All you have to do is wait for the email…no stress, no mess. You are not going to figure out what AZGFD is doing until they are done.

Yep. Had a tag number on either my dad's portal or mine this weekend. Can't remember which now and they both state no tag. It's not surprising considering how terrible azgfd is at their job in pretty much ever aspect. I know we got hit, what unit, etc. Early archery cow tag 7e. Just don't know which one of us it was since both accounts are attached to my card. We'll find out by April I imagine.

It is funny for sure. My tag was showing in the app and now it isn’t. I am sure it is just part of their update process.

I'm on edge. My wife is even worse . I put us in separate but on the same card so it screwed us from knowing who drew the tag. We put in for 1, 8, and 6a all early archery. I hope she drew because she has never been elk hunting. But I won't complain if I drew because the stars are aligning to make this year a year to remember. Moisture, Antler Growth, moon phase, and hunt dates!

There is no set time. Not more than two weeks, no less than one IIRC.

Call me crazy but I think AZ has one of the best draw processes in the west most years. WY elk holds your money for literally 3+ months, CO does the draw weeks or more in advance and you don't find out results until much later. AZ has all this weird portal update non-sense, but you get a sneak peak and at least some information about whether you drew, what, 3 weeks after the draw deadline? It's far from perfect but I like it. The fact that I know my results this year before NM, MT, CO, and UT deadlines is a big plus.
