My experience is similar. Significantly less follow up shots needed with bismuth. Boss shells are good been using them since they came out and used to be better price than other bismuth but now they are more expensive. I have two cases left and will prob start with heavy shot bismuth or Kent bismuth. I really liked the Kent but switched to boss when I heard about them and they were cheaper.Yesterday was my first time using them. We are eating the birds tonight, but when I cleaned them yesterday I didn't find anything. These were teal and were very close for what it's worth, prob 15-20 yd shots. I will say, my buddy next to me was using a 12 ga with regular steel, #2. His birds would kind of sail after hitting them, mine would drop like a rock. So far Im impressed....I didn't get any shots at some of the larger ducks we saw. Would like to see how it does on those......
I hope better than ne Louisiana. Just saw a survey that reported an 86%decrease in the 5 year average counted in the survey. They wanted to compare to last year as it was dry also but an equipment malfunction resulted in no count being recorded. We had a paultry opener and I was headed back yesterday but got a call from guys that had been hunting since the day after thanksgiving and said they were headed home due to so little ducks around.Anybody got any word on ducks in W. Tennessee? Going up there for a late January hunt.
