2021 Cold Bow Challenge.
Bow #1 MER 25 yards on a cow elk. I will be shooting my Welding archery longbow. 48# @ 28”. 58” AMO. I will be launching GT 500 traditional arrows that I won last year in the 2020 CBC tipped with 150gr Cutthroats.

Bow#2. MER 60 yards. Mathews Halon 7 60#. Black eagle carnivore 350 tipped with Wasp drones.

Day 1 : 44 degrees and rain. Lights out with the trad bow and a complete miss high with my compound. I don’t shoot my compound much but it is tuned to these arrows. I’m thinking it is the shooter.

Day 2 sunny and 50 degrees very little wind. I was called into work at 2 AM, got home at 2 PM and took my shots. Being super tired is a great way to shoot the CBC.
Trad bow a little back but very happy with the elevation.

Compound I was on target but high and forward.

Day 3! Ugh
Calm, damp and 42 degrees.
Traditional bow: the shot felt great but went low.
Compound: my thought of going to 60 was definitely wrong. I am consistently high and forward.

It is super hard not to start shooting reps to figure this out. CBC 2021 is an eye opener

Day4, looking better. 45 degrees and calm.
Longbow back further than I was aiming. Despite the not perfect shots I am feeling very happy with my 25 MER.
Compound I am settling in but still high.

ded33e43fe3ef1ac6af76645c16b0dbe.jpg

Day 5: 37 deg. Wind strong left to right.
Trad: super happy with my shot and I believe I have verified my current MER for this current setup.

Compound: I have been consistently high and forward. I need to shorten my MER and work on my release.
2021 CBC was a blast and a learning tool. Thanks Rokslide!

Day 4- 32, slight wind from back, overcast. Shot went off premature- think I had too much heel pressure. Had good pin float on target though and shot hit its mark.

Day 5- Received my second Covid shot the afternoon after my Day 4 arrow and got sick as a dog so yesterday I couldn't shoot. I felt better today so shot my 5th shot. Hard time drawing my bow due to sore arm from the covid shot and pin was all over the place- shot was poor but still in my kill zone.

MER: 50 yards. I’ve stepped down from 60, which I shot at last year. Kill zone is the large, round yellow section on a Rinehart 18/1 (7”) I’ll be hunting moose and deer with my bow this year. Still not ready for pursuing sheep with a bow.
After not having shot my bow since early November on Kodiak, I have really noticed a decline in my ability due to the long winter break.

Bow: Gearhead B20. 27” dl. 65 lbs.
Sight: Copper John TST
Arrows: Victory VAP TKO 350
Broadhead: Micro Hades 3 Blade 125 g.
Total Arrow Weight: 440

Day 1: Leaving on snowboard trip to Valdez, where I will have no signal for a few days. Wanted to make sure I got my first arrow in for the challenge. Shot at appx 10:30 PM on Friday. No wind, very low visibility. 2” right.

0b564d1ee0686e30db286073c93598b5.jpg

Day 2:
4 days after my first arrow. Arrived back after some big days sledding on glaciers and climbing/riding lines. Had a bad fall on a steep line. Tomahawked over a bergschrund and came to a stop a 100 ft below. Little sore. Decided to shoot anyways.
9:25 PM. No wind, low light. Shot landed 3” high and right.

25e5bba960662850ab06f2b434d9ebf0.jpg

Day 3:
7 am, 30f, no wind.
3” high and right. Still within the 7” kill zone. I messed with my sight a couple days before the challenge. With a group starting to form over on that right side, it looks like I may need to adjust it a bit.

69b2120797543478c4a6a82899395572.jpg

Day 4:

9 am. 35 degrees, no wind.
Feeling rushed and stressed. 4” high.
5197f138ddbccf1da78616f5a3cc7176.jpg

Day 5

10 am. Light winds, 40 degrees.
Another poor shot, within 7” kill zone, but not happy with it.

edd1f73989ed425053237cceb91d6ca2.jpg

Conclusion:

4/5 shots within kill zone. However I’m not stoked on how it turned out. I’ll be happy to send a few more arrows down range every day to get my form and equipment sorted out better.

Super excited for the 2021 Cold Bow Challenge. Been waiting for this day since I saw it last season.

EDIT AFTER LAST DAY: Well I had never really shot past 40 before so I thought 50 was a very fair MER. I am very happy with my results and almost wish I would have pushed myself farther. I have about 10 yards to shoot in my basement and I have been shooting almost every day all winter and it definitely paid off. I will be doing this challenge again for my own benefit and will do 50 yards with a weighted pack and probably 60-70.

Thank you very much to Rokslide for putting this together. Had a great time.

99DA4E1A-67BF-4051-86F3-023F05D8866E.jpeg
  • Diamond Carbon Cure with 60X strings. 27” DL at 68lbs.
  • QAD Ultra Rest Hunter drop away
  • Fuse Helix single pin (will be upgrading soon to either Fast Eddie XL or Engage hybrid)
  • Black Eagle Rampage 350 spine .001
  • Rage Hypodermic NC 100gr
  • TruFire Edge 4 thumb release

Planning my first archery ek hunt so my goal MER is 50 yards which is definitely farther than I’ve ever shot at a whitetail. Center of the outside circles on my target is 12” across so my goal is everything inside the middle of the four outside dots.

Day 1: 5:45am, kind of overcast with a 10-15 mph into and from the left wind. Shot broke clean but I was totally out in the open so it was hard to hold steady.
8BAC6441-73D8-4190-B2F6-77EF64D34081.jpeg

Day 2: 6:20 am. 32* and cold wind compared to last few weeks. 10-15mph head wind with higher gusts. Definitely did not feel confident with the amount of sway from the wind.

IMG_3600.jpg

Day 3: 6:50am mostly calm. Finally able to feel comfortable with holding steady vs the past two shots.

C2FAAA20-5256-436D-8EDD-109F380A056D.jpeg

Day 4: 2:10 pm sunny and 60* 10-15 headwind.

FEA08119-D2FE-431F-B05A-4FDD1A648F20.jpeg

Day 5: Mostly calm but colder than last few days again. 8ish foot drop from release to target.

2nd year and way too confident.

Setup:
Hoyt faktor turbo pulling 70lbs
Apex slider sight
black ovis 340 FMJs
allen 3 blade broadheads
Stan thumb release

MER last year was 30 due to missing a shot the season before. This year I felt I'd practiced enough so I went 60. I do shoot at 75 but not nearly accurate enough.
20210416_161756.jpg

DAY 1---Welp I hope day one isn't a sign I overstretched. This is from yesterday, 430pm 80 degrees low wind. High left almost off target. Stepping up cold after work I had a bunch of pin float and didn't feel confident. I settled down and when it broke it felt ok. So I guess the next one will tell me if I should have only gone 50.
20210416_161841.jpg

Day 2-- another miss. 3pm sun in my face again, 3-5 mph tailwind. Was high and a hair left. Skimmed the top of the target. Range was busy felt the butterfliesfrom being the guy to walk right up and let one fly at 60. But really those are all excuses. I didn't execute.
20210418_150548.jpg

Day 3-- finally a good shot atleast I didn't get skunked. Was headed out for a 3 day weekend turkey hunting and got a shot in Friday afternoon. 40 degrees 10 mph wind into my face. Not sure but I think being in the woods instead of a crowed range made me more relaxed. Either way, I will be finishing up soon and hopefully keep the rest on target.Screenshot_20210426-132905_Gallery.jpg

Day 4-- hit, long work week but relaxed, setup, steadied my pin and let it fly. Best feeling shot so far. 72 degrees no real wind.

shot felt good today. 35 degree and a slight left to right breeze.

shot 2: went on vacation with the family but I’m back now and will finish the challenge the next few days.
Shot tonight felt good again, there was a slight breeze and I may have over compensated but still a great shot. It was raining, 51 degrees, and a slight breeze blowing to the right.
D0990533-0744-4AA0-89CA-5CD42FF129A6.jpeg
shot 3: 48 degrees and no wind. Shot felt great! Things are definitely going better than last years cold bow challenge.

58ABD238-5E27-436B-947C-80405CC09417.jpeg
Shot 4: strong 10+ Winds going left to right and I didn’t compensate for it enough however the arrow still touched my vital zone so I’m happy for it with the gusts we were having. Last year at 60 yards the wind messed me up a few times in this challenge.
B6C04A17-4DE5-4DE2-92DA-FF03806401FA.jpeg
Shot 5:No wind whatsoever shot felt good. Both shots without wind that felt good where a little left so I know I need to make a slight adjustment now that my challenge is over! Challenge was great and went way better than last year. I think switching to the single pin is helping a ton with my cold bore shot. Can’t wait to shoot a bunch of arrows tomorrow and practice leaving the pin fixed for close shots.

Great snowy morning start. 60 yards MER. Mathews VXR 31.5 29.5 draw at 73 lbs. Victory Elite 300s with 75 grain adapters and 125 grain Exodus head. No wind just a bit chilly. Little different than last year. Going through some “ life changes” so no more walking out the garage to an 80 yard range. Now I have to walk .75 miles to shoot. So even more like real hunting situation 🤣🤣

0BBD11F5-2C1C-4533-81F5-CF2E844DB041.jpegDay 2 . Not as good . No wind to speak of just dropped my shot a bit.
1676C6BE-EA4A-4700-AED6-D64A4AFC732E.jpegDay 3. Think I still need to fine tune the tuning. New bow had me rushing to get it broadhead tuned and didn’t have much time to tune at 60. Still pretty happy considering I only have around 100 shots through it.31DDED17-A7C5-4CF8-B3B0-28B68F2DD110.jpeg4th shot. Still hugging the right. Sorry, for viral size the target black is 6” which is small for an elk( which is what I’m hunting).Solid in the black I’m super happy. Still need to adjust the tuning. No real wind and most shots “ felt” good. Finally done with 5 th shot !!! Love this way of practicing but man do I wish I had more shots through this bow. Decided to bump the rest a hair to the left because shots felt good left to right but first 4 hit to the right. Definitely helped and put me better in the black. 3 for 5 but not way off so I just need a lot more shooting. Thanks again for motivating us and holding us to a challenge. There were a few days after work that I really didn’t want to walk 3/4 of a mile to shoot 1 arrow🤣🤣

Shooting trad only in the CBC this year.

MER 25 yards
Black Widow PCHX 57 at 27
Easton 2018 with 125gr G5 up front.

Forgot to spin my target on day 1, but vitals are the 6" center on the block.

Day 1
32 and cloudy, calm winds. Still a bit of snow on the ground.

Truly a cold shot today. This morning was the first time I have strung and picked this bow up since last fall. Seeing as how trad is pretty perishable, I'm not terribly dissappointed with the results. I'll tighten this up over the next few days.

0417210818_HDR.jpg

0417210819_HDR.jpg

Day 2
43, sunny and calm.

Well crap, so rusty. Shot felt great but as is typical for me, perfect on the centerline but too high. Good thing there is lots of time until fall.

0418210929_HDR.jpg

Day 3
Wanted to wait for the bad weather today. It's 26 and just started snowing pretty hard.

Just snuck it in there today.

0419211705.jpg

0419211705_HDR.jpg

Day 4:
24, sunny and calm with a fresh 6" of snow on the ground.

Target back in the shadows this morning. Tough to focus on a spot.

Typical, on centerline but a bit high.

0420210847.jpg

0420210847_HDR.jpg

Day 5:
29, cloudy and spitting snow.

1/5 another one high.

0421210758.jpg

Thanks for putting this on. It's always fun, even if you stink it up.

Morning all!
went with a flat 60 yard MER this year.
Shooting a Hoyt Axius Ultra 29” 68#, FMJ 340 arrow with 100 grain vented VPA broadhead, C3277D13-0568-4E33-AFCC-0E33256FCA99.jpegCrossOver 821 stabilizer and TightSpot quiver.
Shooting quiver off. Weather is overcast with no wind, 50 degrees.
My target area is the center module.
Finished the target stand setup last night so I could start today.
Day #1
Day #2
Even a blind squirrel gets lucky,,,or maybe months of practice are paying off.
Another perfect day, 62, cloudy and no wind.

Day #3
55 with a 10 mph out of the west. I’ll blame the arrow going left on that.8025AD3D-926C-401C-B2FD-87CEA4E6F797.jpegDay #4
No wind at all. 40 degrees and dropping, supposed to snow this afternoon.
Left my stabilizer collapsed to see the difference, had a little more pin float. Still happy with the shot.EB72BB47-ED4D-4EC1-83D1-62EFCB020583.jpegDay #5, Final shot.
Is 38 with a 9 mph wind from the west, right to left. Snow has melted this morning, so all is back to the “new normal “!
Saved the worst shot for last.56ACA239-C661-4571-9F89-44A661F1224C.jpeg

67 yards hold over of 60 yard pin through the gap. Last night and this morning. Last year I noticed my cold weather shots were significantly worse, so I'm happy we caught some snow. Overall, I am happy with things. This highlighted that the most efficient use of my range time will be shooting the gaps in between my pins, and using the vertical wire. I chose the goat because I struggle with white targets, and I only shoot the goat well with great target focus because for some reason my mind wants to shoot forward.

Bowtech Reckoning
~71lbs 30" "Performance
29" Gold Tip Pierce 250 with Ethics 110gr insert/outsert 125gr point, (4) Rapt-x 2" Vanes around 540 grains total arrow tunes up perfect with a Cutthroat broadhead
Hamskea Trinity
Hamskea Raptor Peep
Spot Hogg Fast Eddie 5 pin
Tight Spot 7 arrow
12" Bee Stinger Microhex
Vaportrail strings
Tru Ball Max Pro+ with Truball Champ backup
This bow got new cams a month to month and a half ago and I hadn't tuned it yet..

Day three
PXL_20210418_140102325.jpg

Caught the snow storm again. Also I scooted over a few yards to kneel and try out my new FL Foundry pants, same distance as the other shots but kneeling. I then realized I forgot my release, so I dug out the back up release which is a little smaller (to fit @KickinNDishin 's hand) and it went fine.

I don't think I can catch up to her points unless she throws a miss and I stick a 12 ring on our day 5 shots.

Definitely did not have a productive off season. Been so focused on the rifle the bow has been hung up. And I'm starting out this summer with a new release. I was pushing for 60 yards last year and not happy with my consistency so for this CBC and the rest of the summer shooting for high repeatability at 50. Here goes.

04/17 06:45 25F 6mph 110deg

3ec4a313abaa66921e4e7ae76aa24b76.jpg

04/19 06:48 26F 10mph swirling wind/snow absolute miracle shot. Truck to shot back to truck was under 8 min. Too damn cold.

d6e0dea13e172ed433141732e4f419ca.jpg

04/20 06:38 14F 11mph 110deg gusts to 15mph
Another fast outing. Wind is brutally cold, punched the trigger fighting the bow back into the wind. Missed upwind about 2” out of rings. This cold sucks.

65bb236102e742473429b7e0c7008e4c.jpg

04/21 10:28 15F 5mph 100deg no gusts.
Pin felt rock solid without fighting the wind. Settled in fast and let my shot routine take over. Last shot won't be until Sunday, have some turkeys to chase first.

5064a9e10c8b95673fec9e0ff83cce31.jpg

04/28 06:40 38F light wind.
Ending on a solid shot on the best day of the challenge for me so far. Had quite a few days in between but was able to really relax and not overthink the shot. Really felt Iwas able to squeeze through the trigger on the shot and watched a smooth arrow flight all the way to target.

2017 Prime Centergy Hybrid 65lb 29"
QAD HDX Ultra/Crossover Stabilizer/Axcel Accuhunter/Tightspot
Stan xtinction2
Black Eagle Spartan 300/AAE ProMax x4/Black Ovis Built

Target rings are 9" OD. That's my goal zone.

CBC 2021 is a wrap for me. Went 4/5 despite some really crappy conditions. I'm pretty pleased with myself. Definitely need to repeat this performance in the field under much more stress, but it's a good start to the season. Thanks to Robby, Rokslide, and all the sponsors for putting on such a fun event.

Day 1
Looking good for the first shot after adjusting my sight yesterday. Not something I would do without checking during the season!
Standing, 58°, calm wind at the shot.
f6c8c0f65c27ad008678ef4f6d7d8d93.jpg

Day 2
Not so good this morning! Low impact... Likely didn’t follow through and dropped the bow arm to see the shot. Standing, 52°, calm wind. Need to focus!

53497afcdfc734c3f18de06f256b4a90.jpg

Day 3
Questioning my MER. Not shooting much this past year is showing big time. I likely didn’t get my anchor correct. Shot felt good with calm wind. First 5 min of shooting light.

84962976a7594f21fbecae28751a88e2.jpg

Day 4
Hmmm... right next to where the last shot impacted. Pretty sure it was me and not the swirling 10mph wind. I need to figure out what I’m doing wrong after my final shot.

08d843e31e3e5c1671795b964ab14a1b.jpg

Day 5
Left again! I’m thinking I have an anchor problem from not shooting much this pst year. I have a lot of work cut out for me to get ready for this fall!

Thank you to Robby, Rokslide staff and all the sponsors for another great Cold Bow Challenge! It’s a great exercise to really see where your capabilities/weaknesses are.
Best of luck to everyone this spring and fall!

day 2,
55 degrees. Early morning. Almost no wind.

day 3. Evening. Shooting into sun. Gusty wind
Arrow impact same as day 1.
1618964809686.jpeg

day4. First light. 45degrees. Gusty wind out of north (right to left). I now have 3/4 arrows hitting roughly same spot to the left. Will be checking my tune after this is over

Day 5. Morning. 52 degrees. No wind. I tried to tell myself to aim right so as to compensate for all the left impacts. Just couldn’t do so mentally. Arrow hit left. So I’ll be tuning my bow looks like

Setup: PSE decree HD 66lbs 28.5in draw gold tip kinetic pierce platinum 300 spine with 2in SEVR up front. TAW 476grains, MBG 3 pin ascent, 12/8in bee stinger stabs.

MER 65 yards. Just a 8in circle on my blob broadhead target. Can’t see it at 65 yards but it helps with “picking a spot”

my recurve is a Samick Sage 50lb at 28in with gold tip warrior 300 spine shaft and 250gr tusker Concorde single bevel broadheads. These have worked great on white tails in the past.

MER is 20 yards for the stick bow.

day 1 compound

Calm conditions. Barely made it in there..EFAF24AE-494E-4660-9C48-C5C27366A4EF.jpeg

Day 1 recurve
Calm conditions. Shot felt good! I shot a recurve exclusively for a few years and it feels good to have it out again.

day 2 compound (didn’t shoot yesterday)
Calm morning with some difficult shadows. Basically center massing the target. Shot felt good but again barely made it. 0B933B43-3079-423E-9D51-40669537D064.jpeg

Day 2 recurve-same conditions. Shot felt pretty bad, did not follow through. Luckily still in the vitals! 20yard recurve feels easier than 65lb compound at this point.

day 3 compound
Same conditions (California weather lol)
Shot felt great, took my time and pin float was perfect

Day 3 recurve
Choked, bad! Let the pressure get to me. Barely missed but knew it was a bad shot the second it left my fingers. Bummed.

Day 4 recurve: took several days off visiting the in-laws. Felt very rusty and not confident. Drizzling rain no wind. Shakey but made it in there.

Day 4 compound same conditions, punched the trigger pretty bad. Did not follow my shot sequence and it shows at this distance.

day 5 compound: had to take a few days off didn’t get home in time to shoot and left home in the dark. Feeling rusty. Calm evening conditions. Miss.

day 5 recurve, calm conditions

overall not thrilled with my performance. With some more practice I think 20 yards is realistic for the recurve...but for compound I think my MER is closer to 55-60 yards. It was tough after not shooting for a few days and getting rusty in between..but that’s realistic hunting. Thanks Rokslide for another great CBC! My third year in a row and loving it!

I made it! I'm shooting at 50 yards. I wanted to push for 60 but honestly not having shot anything with my bow yet I may limit myself to 40 in the field.

Trying to hit the black circle but it's a 14" target so if I hit it that will be good enough for an elk. I'm also shooting on a fresh side so I can see my group at the end of this.

Hoyt Axius Ultra, 70 lbs 29.5" DL, Tight spot quiver, BG mountain lite sight I put on a dovetail, Hamskea Trinity rest, nose button and a DIY stabilizer.

Arrows are 5mm Axis 300 spine somewhere around the same length as my DL. They have the regular Easton insert, Ironwill titanium collar, Nocturnal nock with a vented 125 Ironwill broadhead. They are about 510 grains.

Good luck everyone!

Day 1: Calm, sunny and pretty warm for this time of year.

Day 2: same conditions as day 1. Calm and warm in the 20 degree range.

Day 3: same temperature but a bit of a wind blowing from my right to left. Still in the kill zone of an elk but getting to the edge of where I’d like.

Day 4: no wind a little cooler at about 16 deg. C. Looking better than day 3.

Day 5: about 18 deg C and a bit of wind at my back. Pretty eye opening challenge. Time for more practice!

Setup: Bowtech Realm X, 72# at 29". BE x impact 300 spine, with a 125 grain field point.

Target: 18-1 Rinehart, aiming for green center which is 8” I believe.

Weather: Sunny 39 degrees, no wind.

MER: 80 yards, last year was 50 or 55.

Shot 1: Felt good, but hit something super hard in the target. Old outsert from an arrow or something.

Shot 2: Also felt good. I've got astigmatism in both eyes and at 80 the target is fairly blurry, so I'm just aiming for the middle of the blurriness. Moved the sight to the left a little to pull it back in.

Shot 3: Rushed it a bit and put it outside.

Shot 4: Almost the exact same as shot 3, I put it outside. Reduced the pull on my resistance release and I’ll see if I can’t get this last shot back inside.

Shot 5: Moved the sight after shot 2 and it definitely showed on these last 3. After the 5th one I moved it back to the right a hair and was hitting dead center.

Hey Guys! Great to be sponsoring another Cold Bow Challenge.

Once again, I'm shooting 100 yards and a caribou size vitals. (I don't plan to shoot an animal this far but want this to be my effective range in case a follow up shot is needed.)

I'm shooting an 18" target, so want my shots to hit at least a few inches in from the edges.

Still waiting on my new Hoyt Rx5, so shooting my Mathews VXR 75 lb bow with Easton Axis Long Range 4mm arrows and the new Iron Will Snyder Core system with our new Single Bevel broadheads with bleeder.
SB135 + 15 grain Ti HIT + 25 grain Impact Collar = 175 upfront.

setup.jpg

First shot had about a 10 mph cross wind. Not perfect, but definitely in the vitals:

shot1.jpg

Shot 2: slight tail wind. Perfectly centered but a little high. 4" down from top edge, so still in the vitals.
2shot.jpg

Shot 3: I'm happy with this shot because I hit where I was aiming, just inside the left edge of the vitals. There was a pretty strong cross wind from the left, but varying a lot. I was expecting a few inches of drift, but the wind died down as I shot and I didn't get any drift.
3shot.jpg

Shot 4: Check out the Iron Will Outfitters Instagram or Facebook story for a video on this shot. Very cold bow, since I left it hanging in the barn and it was 14 degrees this morning. Snowed 3-4 inches last night. Minimal wind. So far, so good!
4shot.jpg

Shot 5: Right to left cross wind. Wasn't too steady as the shot broke, but that'll work!
5shot.JPG

Funny how expectations change over time. At one time I would have been satisfied with these shots at half the distance. Now I just want to keep getting better. Always room for improvement in bowhunting.
Good hunting!

MER 60 yards

Fixed blade broadheads, G5 Montec

2010 Bowtech Destroyer 340
68 lbs, 27.5-inch draw
Black Gold Ascent Verdict sight

Black Eagle X-Impact .350 shafts with 80 gr FOCOS system and 100 gr fixed blade broadheads for 425 gr total.

Deer is intended game, so I'll shoot at one dot of an NFAA 5-spot: a little more than 6 inch diameter circle.

Day 1

Rough start. 35F, cloudy, 25 mph wind with higher gusts from left to right. I thought the gold felt as good as to be expected with the wind. Missed about 16 inches right.

cc7bb69d9d1f08d8f8c2ccf1047e320a.jpg

Day 2

60F clear, 15 mph wind with maybe 5 mph component from left to right. Better shot than yesterday, but still not good.

cb9ac93d940d6d32573fdab795a9971e.jpg

Day 3

35F, clear, just after first light, calm. I'm starting to think that this is just where my bow is sighted in at. Hmm. Takes a while to sight in when you can only shoot one arrow per day.

c4ef3ec04a2c463107ece0201d15695d.jpg

Day 4

50F, clear, wind 15 mph left to right. Wind pushed the arrow a little to the right.

a2121cda585b9695e56f5084e9b9b9a8.jpg

Day 5

25F, clear, just after sunrise, calm. Best shot of the bunch. Apparently I'm sighted in to the right.

Looking forward to shooting more than one arrow per day!

55 MER this year.
75# Prime Centergy hybrid
100 grain Sevr
50 grain HIT
25 Grain IW Collar
Black Eagle Rampage 250's

This challenge get me to start thinking about different places I could use the range. Only bowhunted whitetails and turkeys. 40 is a long shot around here with a bow with how we set stands/blinds up more shots sub 20 that 30+.
Using the large flat on a 18-1 as a vital this year.
Pulled this shot into the wind perfectly!!

Shot #2 today, no wind just poor execution on my part.
46c009b519f4e207991ed912d15c3947.jpg

Shot 3... Pretty windy from left to right today, still terrible shooting on my part.
842beb3aaa3ae6cfc031bfaaa461837d.jpg

Shot number 4. Tried out the low light conditions tonight. Had to let all of our random snow storm melt off today. I'm beginning to believe my first one may have been the fluke. Shots 2-4 were about as consistent as I can shoot splitting pins at 55. Just low right. Should have shot more than 5 arrows before this thing kicked off this year.

Shot 5 pretty still today. Time to start shooting. tinkering.

Arrow 4: Not shooting for two days and this is the result 😥 Felt myself rushing through my shot process. I should have let down cause something didn't feel right but I sent 'er anyways.

Arrow 5: made sure to redeem myself from yesterday's shot. 38° and no wind. Thanks to the Rokslide crew and all the sponsors who put this on! I really enjoy it and seeing everyone's setups
