Anyone experiencing issues with food sources ripening at different times of the year? Having a hell of a time catching WA bears out feeding open hill sides this season.

I’ve been blessed to kill quite a few good bears in NC, Saskatchewan and Alaska but my favorite bear to date was a big brown taken on the Alaska Peninsula. Unbelievable hunt I will never forget.
Going through this thread for the first time. What a massive bear! I would love to hear the details. Guided hunt? Public land?

582 Lb Wisconsin bear on the first day of season that a buddy of mine shot. Not a great picture. As a group running hounds we also got a 200lb, 300lb, and 482 lb bears all gutted weights. I cropped the picture some to hide identities of people as we had some onlookers at the gas station.

Finally getting around to posting this.. My first Black Bear ever. Last week of May. Still cant fully believe it all came together after hours of research and never even being in Montana until this trip - let alone seeing a black bear in the wild. We didn't see a track, scat or trace of a bear until this monster stepped out at 178 yards.... On the evening of day 5! After taking a minute to confirm it was a boar (which you guys would have known instantly im sure) I made a good shot from a comfortable rest with my 270. He went about 40 yards. After a long rainy night we finally made it back to the vehicle with hide, head, meat and gear at about 3am.. wet bears are heavy!

An absolutely unforgettable experience. With rain every day and camping off trail for the majority of the trip, it was tough to stay focused/motivated. The meat is fantastic and I can't wait to get the rug back.. Still in shock! View attachment 301183

Thank you Montana.
Awesome Bear, I love to see out of state hunters helping with predator management and not all just trying to smash any ungulate with horns.

Mendocino County, CA bear.
15 yards, 40 lb longbow. No ground shrinkage on this one. I think it got bigger after expiring!
A lot of work getting this one out.
