First hunting trip my girl made with me....she couldn't have been more excited. Ended up packing her on my shoulder up and down the mountain on this trip! Fun memory.

Hey, congrats! Glad to see kids involved with it! I think I bumped into you and your daughter last year While turkey hunting maybe? Let’s say near Fort Collins/Loveland. You were the only other ones back as far as me!

Crappy pictures of a great CO mountain bird. He was fired up but wouldn’t leave his 3 hens. 3.5 hours later I had repositioned between them and where I figured they’d head uphill to roost and they came right to me.

WI bird from yesterday. After shooting him his buddy beat him up, strutted around, gobbled, and came to decoys while i was talking to the video camera. Some times they just don't care.

Well - it was about as uneventful as possible but I got a bird. No calling, no gobbling, no hens. Sat in a spot where they funnel by and had to resist the urge to call. He walked by at 39 yards around 3:30 today 👍I'm thinking he was a two year old. Shorter spurs, 9" beard...20200416_195518.jpg20200416_153759.jpg

Finally made it out the third day of south zone season here hunting Rio's. Hunted a new piece of property that I got permission on. Birds pitched across the river they roost on first thing in the morning. Put 6 miles on my booView attachment 165956View attachment 165957ts trying to find more birds around the property. Heat and soupy conditions had them pretty quiet. Set up on a hay meadow between the birds and the roost. A couple of hens came out with a tom in tow about 500 yards across the meadow. Then another two hens came out down the fence line that I was on with two toms in tow. All strutting their stuff. I was able to get one gobble out of the pair of toms that was it. Kept cutting off the loud hen and got under her skin enough that she came into 7 yards from me squawking looking for a fight. Fortunately for me, her boyfriend followed her. Rolled him at 25 yards. As he started flopping, the other two toms came at a dead sprint to whoop his tail. Let the nerves calm down, and rolled one of them right next to the other. I could have had a triple but could not see the third tom coming back due to a slight rise in the field. Bird 1: 11" beard and 1.75" spurs. Bird 2: 10" beard and 1.25" spurs.
Damn! On a Rio too!!!
