2020 Bear Success Thread

I'll kick it off. After 4 days of missed opportunities early in May, I made a run back to Idaho with @JJBuck for a 2 day trip. 2 days, 2 bears and a bunch of Chorizo!

My 14 year olds first. Shot with muzzleloader, only went 30 yards. Pretty sure she's hooked. Doesn't hurt multiple friends have struggled to get the job done, and she's the only one so far to punch her tag.

Opened a new spot this year, and shortly after I got bait out, my wife started getting extreme morning sickness and fatigue with baby #2 that lasted all of May and most of June. So I spent the whole season being a husband/dad. Tons of bears even with bait empty probably 50% of the time. Only got to sit 3 short nights all season. Passed on several bears the first couple times and decided to shoot first legal bear this last evening.

Prospects are looking phenomenal next year if I can get out to hunt with a new sleep stealer and toddler. Salmon fishing was also absolutely world class. Great weekend for freezer filling after a very frustrating spring.

Top picture was this years bear with the wife, and second picture was last years bear. Last years bear was my first ever bow harvest and that's what got me hooked on archery! I love #bearhunting, and I love the meat.
