Thanks for the story and the great pictures. Was up there the week of the 16th had a great time, only saw 7 other hunters not too bad

I thought I'd update this thread one last time since I just got my buck back from my buddy last week. Took him in way after the kill (April 2015) as I was undecided about mounting him. Needless to say I'm very happy I decided to get him done, he turned out great!

Thanks guys, he turned out even better than I had hoped!
bbrown we believe he was a pretty young deer, we guessed him to be 3.5 years old. I know when I first seen him the day I harvested him I thought he was an old buck, but he wasn't very big bodied or have very worn teeth. My friend also said he had one of the smallest head and ears he's ever seen.

Fooled me with the extra grey on his face and head but now that you mention it I see what you are saying as far as the size of his head. Great buck none the less.

Ya he fooled me as well, that and the mass he carries had me thinking old buck. Often makes me think of what he could have been with another year or two...
