Thanks Ross! Here's Jessica's doe. She shot from under this rock. We were getting out of the steady 30 mph wind for a few minutes while Brian and Hunter were taking care of Hunter's buck when the doe came flying down the draw in front of us:)

It was tough hunting in that wind! Lots of goats, though, and exceptional company!

Filled the tag this morning for MT's rifle opener. Got the whole thing on film, it was great being able to head out with my dad, first time together for antelope since my very first antelope which was also my very first big game animal I killed when I was 12.

My grandpa made the stock for this 25-06 with a pre-64 Mauser converted to sportsman when he was living in Wyoming in the early 70's. My dad gave it to me last Christmas. I thought it would only be fitting to stretch it out on a windy ridge this fall. 385 yards later, it picked up where it left off almost forty years ago.

No pictures, but I shot a doe at just under 300 yards on Wednesday, the first of three tags. We have a group of five of us that will pool the meat for a season ending sausage making party. We have access to 17k acres in SE Wyoming that no one else hunts, so filling the 15 tags we have is fairly optimistic. I'm very new to the whole hunting experience, and since my hunting buddies were all working, it was a solo trip with my first field dressing and butchering effort. My Havalon Bolt proved very handy.

I shot my first goat on 10-16-13 at 279 yards. It was a 3 mile stalk/end around, in the crunchy snow. I had to lay in the snow for about an hour waiting for a good shot and it was 21°F so I was a little shaky but it was a great hunt. I located this herd about a mile away and had to race them to the boundary, luckily I was faster than they were, which isn't something I ever thought I'd be saying, faster than a pronghorn, right. All of the bucks were about the same size but this guy had the best prongs so he was the unlucky target.

So Im new to the forum and thought I would post a couple of pics from our recent hunt in Wy. My son and I took these two buck from a ground blind over water. Really fun, action packed hunt. Although there were bigger bucks around my son really like the unique flare to this buck. Hope you enjoy!
