Mr. @psemach1evolve I want to level with you. I know you think we’re a bunch of jackasses (and we are) but I want to try to explain why you’re catching so much heat with these posts.
1. You’ve posted many times about your hunt probably because you’re very excited. You should be! You’ve got some great tags and yes many people are jealous of you, myself included. But posting over and over about the things you have been makes you come off as arrogant and bragging. Folks have shared their opinions and experiences related to your upcoming hunts and you’ve pushed them off as ridicule.
2. You asked for scope and ballistic advice early on but you were very quick to dismiss the advice or questions you received. Most of us are 100% confident in your old rifle and even your old leupold, the comments about leupold quality issues were based on recent production models and are true. I think you misunderstood the recommendations and took them as an attack on your tried and true equipment. Rokslide is a very good resource for recent product reviews so when you want to buy something new it’s factor these opinions into your purchase choice.

I will say this despite me making some memes to poke fun at you, I really really hope you have a great hunt and kill a great ram and buck. I hope this sheds some light on why you’ve gotten the response you have, and you don’t take anything here personally.

Took me 38 years to draw this tag. I will fill it with my crappy 1955 mod.70, with a crappy leupold scope. This website site thinks that's junk. Ok. Well, I have total confidence in my junk gun. Jack O'Conner thought it worked just fine for sheep. And most here will never draw a desert sheep@13k feet. Ever.... I will post my ram pic with my crap gun, and scope. It's how I started my hunting, and will end it with a desert ram. So all the haters, I will prove you wrong. Watch me
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Spent 45 years building whitetail habitat. Apples, waterhole, 13k, Norway spruce by hand, 60 bowstands and 14 gun stands. I built this habitat by hand over 50 years. How many trees have you planted by hand? I now have a great whitetail place. #3 County on the planet for book entries. You think this is done by being a keyboard cowboy. Ha. What a joke.

Can you plant trees not by hand?
It took you 45 years?
I guess you could do it like I do and lift with your laborers not your back.......

I think everyone wants to see the conclusion of this hunt.

It's nice that the keyboard warriors are occupied otherwise and not getting this one locked.
I can’t wait for all the threads on the conclusion to show up.
My imagination is running wild with how this story will be told.
Bare knuckle boxing with a mountain lion?
Space aliens and a UFO messing his shot up?
Off hand 680 yard shot in a 30mph cross wind?

This thread is killin me.............

I honestly can’t believe that this thread hasn’t been locked yet. The 3rd reply was someone calling the poster an alcoholic and they didn’t get any better from there. Not a very good look.

That is because the staff and moderators are giving some leeway, and because they are a very forgiving lot. :)

my BIL and nephew said it’s super deep snow still up high and sheep are lower
OP back off the booze till after the kill , imo it messes up your sleep and breathing @ altitudes

We take 35 doe/year on my wi. Farm. 48 yearsx35 is over 1600 doe for 4 hunters. So yes, and over 120 with a bow.
Sounds like you farm may be in central Wis. that is where they largest population of deer are. We hunt up in Sawyer county for deer and grouse both.

Looks cool! Is that terrain representative for the area?
That is on top of the range, the sheep usually hang out in much rougher country off the top. I believe that locked gate is at 11.7K.

The hunt description from the CA big game digest: Extremely steep and rugged terrain, navigating this unit is immensely physically strenuous as most desert bighorn sheep herds occur between 10,000 – 14,000 ft. Extreme safety and caution when preparing for and hunting in this unit is advised.

A guy who drew this tag shortly after the unit was opened drove to the base of the range to start his hike, looked up at the mountain, said "F that", and drove home. Not for the faint of heart.
