We will see. Leaving wed. Acclimate, shoot@12k feet. Then game on sat.
The whites due to altitude have the smallest rams. Anything in the 160s is a trophy in the whites. My first 5 days will be 160, 2nd 5 days, I punch my tag.Let’s talk ram size. Are you thinking Boone and Crockett caliber or bust? Old crusty battle axe and who cares what he scores? Any mature ram? First ram? You willing to eat a tag vs killing the ROAL? What’s even legal for this hunt, what’s good and what’s exceptional and what are you looking for?
Have the guides put eyes yet on rams 160+ recently? The whites due to altitude have the smallest rams. Anything in the 160s is a trophy in the whites. My first 5 days will be 160, 2nd 5 days, I punch my tag.
School should be starting soon and the kid in crocs and other tourists should be less on the mountain, I bet the sheep start getting back to regular routineHave the guides put eyes yet on rams 160+ recently?
The mandatory mtg. Was top notch. Problem with my hunt in 5 days, 72 feet of snow, water and feed everywhere, so sheep dispursed. This will be a grind.
Did your guides not also know and communicate this with you beforehand?

Awfully bold to call it hunting when you're a glorified triggerman. After 50 years of hunting I learned all your big game hunting is worthless we hen in comes to sheep. Fantastic glasses for hours is the key. 1) a 3 yo ram can be legal.2) rangefinder in your scope not legal, 3) someone with u has to have a 15x scope to id a legal ram.
Kill a toad ram !
wonder if the sheep will be much lower altitude this year because the green line is lower ( I know you mentioned being and wanting to be @ 4000 meters+)
we had snow in Mexico last winter and everything was down lower in springtime ( can’t wait till October again) in eastern MexicoView attachment 584741View attachment 584742View attachment 584743View attachment 584744
I figured the sheep would be scattered around because of the unusual green line , however the guides should have some eyes on the sheep by nowThe mandatory mtg. Was top notch. Problem with my hunt in 5 days, 72 feet of snow, water and feed everywhere, so sheep dispursed. This will be a grind.
Need to add the ice axes for climbing over the 72’ snow wall.
