Got a pressure ladder loaded up in some new brass for my 105s and picked what should be a slower accuracy node 2850ish to test these at. Will post a 10 shot group on Sunday…

Well boys not a good day at the range for the 106. I will say there is definitely some shooter error in this group but not so much that I feel the group would have been sub MOA or close to it. Top shot was the cold bore shot. Far right shot was definitely a pull on my part. The far left I got no idea. I will also add I’m still fighting with the tupperware stock on my new tikka but will detail that in another thread. Speed avg 2845 and group measures 2 inches for 10 shots. I’m barely above sea level and this is a 8 twist with less than 50 rounds through the barrel. I will tinker a little more and see if I can get them to stabilize at distance. Ended the range session on a good note though with my 260 shooting an 1.5 inch group at 300.

Has anyone with a 7 or 7.5 twist tried these out yet?

I was going to order a 6prc for these but if they don't shoot any better in faster twist barrels I will order a .25/7prc instead.

I'll load some for my 7.5tw 6gt and see how they do. Most Eldm have shot well for me -50 jump or so pretty consistently, so I'll try that with a charge that's worked well with 105-110gr bullets in the past.

I put 40 grains h4350 in unprepped alpha virgin 6 creed brass and loaded/shot 7 of them with unimpressive results in a 7.5 twist. There was a ton of seating pressure (you can see the damaged ogives on pic i posted with them and 108 EH) and this gun was being a bitch with pressure signs with other ammo as well so not a full fair shake but all that considered if they were going to be the type of easy button we look for i'd have still expected them to shoot better than they did.

Someone’s bound to find a load they like right???
It will be awhile before I can get anything done with these. Based on the measurements from sorting, there are many lots mixed together, and there is a ton of variation from lot to lot. I think these will require sorting and might still be a bear to get to shoot considering their shape. Usually, if a bullet is going to shoot, it will shoot with some jam. I wouldn't hunt with jam, but it might divulge if these are blasting bullets or long range bullets.

I’m in the process of working up a load for my 16” 7.5 twist 6 Creed. Did a ladder test that seemed promising yesterday, but haven’t shot any groups yet. I’ll report back when I do.

Did you guys that are having accuracy issues measure your distance to the lands with the 106s? I’m having to seat bullets a lot longer than I do 108 ELDMs to be .020 off the lands. Can’t remember the length off the top of my head, but it’s long enough that they won’t fit in an AI mag with a binder plate.

Mine don’t fit in factory Tikka mags either that’s the same base to ogive as my 105s but longer OAL for the 106. I have not tinkered with seating depth either.

Loaded to mag length in my 6cm, 6 dasher I tried -.030 & -.060. Sorted by length they will stack up nicely on occasion, but have "flyers". I was hoping it was marginal stability.

Here’s where I ended up after the ladder test. Ignore the high shot. (I adjusted my zero and shot to confirm) 7.5 Twist 6 Creed 40.2 grains H4350/Lapua Brass/CCI 450 Primer. 5 shot group just under .5”. The shot to the right was my fault. This rifle shoots ELD-Ms better, but I can certainly live with it for $.19/round.

Loaded up some at 10k jump and some at 50k jump. 36.3gr H4350 in a 169 freebore 6gt. Velocity should be 2900-2950 where this weight class typically likes to be in the gt. Measured 20 rounds from 2 boxes and base to ogive was within 0.002 on my comparator. Will try to get to range tomorrow or Wed.

You're lucky. By bullet number 10 I had a .011" es. I measured 100 berger 108 target to make sure I could still measure things. All were +/- .001" for "bearing surface."

I purchase 1500 of these 106s, last night I reboxed them. Measured 7-10 from each box of 100, and I had an es of 0.006" which I didn't think was horrible, granted my sample size was under 10%
