Has anyone see any negative affects of accuracy from using an adapter? My tikka ranch came with 1/2x28. I dont have a suppressor that will fit

I had our machinist make me an adapter. You don’t need anything fancy. I’ve seen folks use and like the Hughes Precison units.

Currently out of stock, but I got one of these and it was pretty burly. The wrench flats are nice.

People will tell you it’s stacking tolerances and yada yada yada but it’s fine. Spend $15, glue it on, and be done with it.

Has anyone take their can off and fired shots with just the adapter on? I tried it and got horrible accuracy. I was wondering why my gun was grouping so bad without the can until I realized the escaping gases were hittng threading and over hang.

My rifle shoots significantly better 10 shot groups with the can on vs the bare adapter. I chalk it up to harmonics but I suppose it could be something to do with the bare adapter.

The bare adapter extends beyond the muzzle crown by 1/8-1/4" with threading inside. I'm sure the escaping gases create turbulence. With the can on, the rifle is a shooter.
