I spent a year working a 30 on/30off rotation in India in a town called Kakinada. we were careful to only drink bottled water but still kept getting sick every hitch. eventually we found out that the majority or water bottles had been drained through a small hole of the bottom of the bottle...
i think i'm going to throw the top from a small solar yard light in the bag. i'm planning on hanging it near the tent so it might make it easier to find coming back after dark. could also bring it in for a little light in the tent. worth a try for 3-4 bucks.
don't understand why they are still living under tarps for the most part after 5 or 6 days. It's raining most of the time so water is not a major issue but shelter is.
I was really hoping the guy that cut the logs was going to start notching them. be pretty cool to see one of them in a rough...
best bullet i've ever found for my muzzleloader, used a 450gr .50 keith nose solid on a cow bison and it literally knocked her backwards onto her butt.
If you can keep your shots to 125yds or less this is a hammer.
planning on using my pointman as a 3-5 day pack for early season in colorado. i've got two long's on the sides, a large lock and load on the back and a claymore on the bottom for my tent and bag. i figure im at about 4800 ci. is that big enough for a 3-5 day trip?
i love the bag and have...
i've had GSP's, a Lab, a Chessie, and now am running a Boykin. The Lab (out of wildrose kennels) was by far the best dog ive ever had but tjis Boykin is shaping up to be close 2nd and having a dog that weighs 35# and barely sheds has huge advantages. i wish i'd discovered the breed earlier.
since your talking about getting an entirely new bow (different limbs and riser) go ahead and get rid of what you have, order something that has a reputation for not stacking at your draw length and get back to practicing.
Where are you at in Mi? i'm from Gaylord originally.
i'm planning on the holy cross for this fall as well, I think i have the beginnings of a plan but i'm sure it will shift as more information is gathered. for me i think coming in from the west side is going to make the most sense.
I have used back quivers for the past 12 years or so and now with starting backpack hunting it just makes sense to switching to a bow mounted quiver. My longbow is snakeskin backed so i'd rather not use a slide on selway (the only one i have experience with)
Anyone used the great northern quiver?
I'm in the same boat, looking at my first solo into the holy cross area in Co for early september. My first time in that area as well so i'm looking at it as a long walk with my longbow for company. Seems a little overwhelming right now with all the planning and infinite second guessing about...
might be a silly question but why not just grab the top off a $3 solar light for the yard from home depot or loses? set it out from of the tent during the day and you'll have a light to help get you home if you come back after dark, take it in the tent if you want to read. not a lot of light...
if your shooting as much as you say then you skip the starter kits and look at a progressive reloader. look into a dillon precision RL550. beyond the press you'll need a scale, case trimming/prep station, a case tumbler and the dies for your calibers.
there's some odds and ends you'll need as...
thanks Eric-it may end up were there during muzzleloader- all riding on my work schedule. can i ask if you came in on the east or west side and is access any kind of an issue?
appreciate all the information, i saw the jeep trail on the map off the colorado website. was hoping someone had accessed it from the other side or away from the jeep trail.
