Red Dots over 1x scope? Yes or No?

Gotcha. I'd run a micro prism then. Not the case with the micro prism. Has incredible eye relief, very flexible, very subtle difference between a red dot. Maybe a couple oz heavier.

Have you moved out of state?

It's funny you mention that because I felt that was the case and did some comparisons using weather applications and found, while there is longer darkness in AK, it's not substantial. We loved Alaska. Another thorn was the increased distance from family and additional costs associated.

.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

I appreciate and respect that explanation and response. I'll continue observing from now on unless I have more pertinent information to provide.

.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

Not exactly. I made several points in my posts that you failed to recognize, address all while twisting phrases I used to reflect matter-of-fact rather than conjecture/prediction. I said other calibers are available to me in hunting platforms, whereas .223 is not currently. I acknowledge the...

Have you moved out of state?

We honey mooned in Alaska. We rented a car and drove a lot but we hiked more than we drove. If it wasn't for the darkness in winter, we'd be going there as well.

Have you moved out of state?

Thanks for the suggestion! I fear that AZ is similar to WI politically, though.

.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

I understand the point of the thread. I read the shortened version and some of the posts but honestly I'll probably never read the nearly 400 pages in it's entirety because I don't care that much about it. It's interesting, but I'm not going to sell all of my rifles for all .223 caliber just...

.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

It's funny because I've often thought about using .223 for whitetail deer. I've heard it has good result with good shot placement (that is the key to any ethical kill with any cartridge). I don't have a desire or purpose to use a .223 since I have other calibers in hunting setups ready to go...

.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

I'm not one to discount any theory, claim, or the like without some research and experience. I was just surprised at the vastness of this discussion.

Have you moved out of state?

A lot of things that I've accepted or understood but nonetheless a great list to reference. We use bubbler, davenport, brats, stop and go lights.... unless you mean those are terms I'll be pinned as a foreigner for using? Lol! It's an exciting change in the pursuit of happiness.

Red Dots over 1x scope? Yes or No?

Can always do a 2x prism. I've replaced all of my red dots with 1x micro prisms from Primary Arms.

    Smooth bow for bad shoulder

May or may not be the ticket. I shoot a Matthew's Z3 which my uncle, who has a bad shoulder, is able to draw relatively comfortably compared to any other bow he's tried. A shot in the dark. Good luck.

Have you moved out of state?

I think it'd be interesting to talk about/hear about why people left their home states and where they went. Personally, I'm seriously considering leaving WI for a western state - primarily looking at Idaho, Montana, or Utah - probably in that order as well in regards to preference. Several...

    New Truck--Dependability

Love my 5.0 F150. 130k miles and I've changed tires, oil, and put gas in it. One day I'll upgrade to a f250 with the newer 7.3 gas.
