That’s awesome. I have to get better with the stove and keeping it lit. I gave up on keeping it going overnight, but the 15 degree bag was enough.

Roughly 6.5 lbs for the tent and stove together. I was about 4 miles from the truck on this one.

Went up to D6 a few times this season and saw a few does, but no bucks. I went on my first solo backcountry trip and it dipped into the 20’s overnight. Great experience and I plan to continue getting comfortable with longer solo trips. I know I need to spend a lot of time in an area to nail down...

My grandparents live near Sedona. I’m planning on hunting near there sometime. Not quite as dry as the phoenix/valley area.

Thanks. I’m in the SF Bay Area, but open to driving just about anywhere north of Santa Barbara county for good hunting. I saw a ton of pigs on a big plot of private land last year but almost never see them on public!

    California mule deer.

Haha steaks and beer in the backcountry — I have to experience that at least once. Kennedy is gorgeous. I saw it for the first time last year and did some fishing on the river.

Two week horse hunt sounds awesome. I’m pretty new to hunting and it seems like a lot of successful folks in the D6 zone horseback deep into the wilderness. I’ve been thinking about using the Kennedy Meadows packers.

I humbly accept the FNG star and will cherish it for the next six hours.

    California mule deer.

I’ve spent most of my time over 4 miles off the roads, but don’t get nearly enough time to be successful. Usually a couple of long weekends each season.

Seems like the X-zones are the way to go. Having a hard time in D6 the last few years.

I expect this one to be skipped over with “California” in the title. New to hunting three years ago. No friends or family that hunt so this has been a pretty solo endeavor. Being in California doesn’t make it any easier, but hoping to get a leg up learning from people here.

    Long range hunting scope

I got a PST gen 2 that won’t hold a zero. Not saying they all have that issue, but mine did.
