That’s a pretty big tent for yourself. How much is that and the stove weighing? When it’s that cold and I’m by myself I keep to about a miles range to the truck, which I had to do last weekend.

Went up to D6 a few times this season and saw a few does, but no bucks. I went on my first solo backcountry trip and it dipped into the 20’s overnight. Great experience and I plan to continue getting comfortable with longer solo trips. I know I need to spend a lot of time in an area to nail down the bucks’ habits. Still putting the work in 🤘🏼View attachment 787242View attachment 787243
Keep at it! My best d zone hunting spots are places I saw bucks in velvet during July while backpacking. They continue to produce year after year. There is a lot of good looking country that does not hold deer. Do a little scouting this summer and you will be miles ahead for the fall 😬

Roughly 6.5 lbs for the tent and stove together. I was about 4 miles from the truck on this one.
