The trails museum up by the events center is cool if your into history. Gruner Bros for good micro brews and cool atmosphere, La Cocina for great mexican food, week day...

    one thing I didn't see mentioned in this thread, if you are inexperienced in the woods at night, take safety glasses to wear out. sounds stupid but a number of folks have been seriously injured by branches they didn't see.

    When you turn it in, make sure to speak with the Warden and exchange contact info. Most of those folks will give you the back ground of the Elk, where it had been collared, how far it had gone, age. etc, etc.

    Almost too many to count. Countless birds landing on me, Had a squirrel run down the back of my shirt while i was in a tree stand once. Sitting on the ground waiting for " Mid-day madness " and had a badger walk across my feet. I have pulled hair from 2 separate Elk also.

    Look up Dirk Durhams ( the Bugler ) series on Youtube. he starts you at ground zero and walks through making all the sounds you will need in the woods. Once you have that down, like the fellas above mentioned, Elknut app for sure.
