    Trekking poles

    I prefer the foldable for hiking since I don't use them all the time and they are easier to store on the side of my pack. I also have a pair of the BD Flick Locs which are great on long traverses on steep slopes since the uphill pole can be shortened and the downhill pole can be lengthened.

    I have sectional spinning rods and telescopic rods and tend to take the telescopic rods when hiking streams since I can leave the rod setup and collapse it when moving from spot to spot.

    Osprey and Sea to Summit make good waterproof roll top bags. I have many bags each in a different color or size so I can tell them apart.

    I prefer OnX on my phone over dedicated Garmin unit unless the weather is nasty. Then I prefer a waterproof unit.

    Rain gear for CO early rifle

    I stayed dry all day wearing Kryptek Poseidon 2 Jacket and pants. Not entirely windproof though so I added a windstopper mid layer the next day. That combination worked great.

    I second the good experiences with Lowa. I use the Sesto for warm weather and the Tibet GTX for mild/wet weather.
