Help me out here. Some say that there are stages of hunter development:
1) Shooting Stage · 2) Limiting Out Stage · 3) Trophy Stage · 4) Method Stage · 5) Sportsman Stage · 6) “Give-Back” Stage
I got my first hunters ed card in '78 so I predate this teaching. Haven't heard it before or...
So we been talking about Ruger Gen II. I have a Gen I Ranch in 350 Legend - works good enough but i don't like the 16 inch barrel - sensitive deaf ears and get rung a bit if I'm off the stock any.
Anyway - liking the 20-inch barrel on Gen II and maybe another 350 Legend. I've got the...
Im trying to figure out value for some anmo for an estate. They have about 25 boxes of ammo, 5-6 diff calibers.
I was considering averaging prices he paid vs new and then using 50% of that as a sellable value.
There is even 1/2 box of paper hull 12 ga bird shot. Just have trouble putting a...
Any gun smiths willing to weld the bolt arm/handle back on to the bolt?
Had a shell stick and bopped on it a few times, handle popped off. Had a screw and some glue holding it. Gun shoots good, replacement bolts unavailable.
Doing WY antelope this fall - one of the guys wants to do some "historical" sight seeing. We'll be about 3 hrs from Rapid City and Mt Rushmore.
What else should we be checking out if we take a day there?
What's the best saloon to check out?
I'm wanting a nice camera that will take good photos and also do video. Figure $1,000 budget.
Any suggestions?
Also will need editing software suggestions.
Going on vacation, want some nice photos for my office, and might as well shoot some videos for when I'm too old to do much.
Looking at 2024.
Kenai Peninsula.
Salmon halibut etc.
Is it better to use a lodge or schedule your own trips?
I gotta take the Mrs. on the anchorage to Seward/Whittier train ride…. Seen the combo trips are out of Seward and Halibut out of Homer for most lodges. Why drive back & forth to...
Been thinking about getting a suppressor for a 357 mag rifle (Ruger M77/357 or single shot break action rifle) and 350 Legend (Ruger American Ranch Rifle). 18 and 16 inch barrels respectively.
Have absolutely no idea where to go from here or "what I need to know" - I know zero about...
Just saw a picture of a guy holding a trophy and the hillside behind him was snowed, pretty vivid.
Assuming the buck was bedded - how would a mature buck react if a hunter worked across the hillside, across the valley? Say 1,000 yards away?
Would he relocate or would he just watch the orange...
I was just reading a couple “I wanna” posts relative to drawing certain units and felt my neck tighten, pulse changed, and was immediately in the draw game.
I have been fortunate enough to be pointed at a couple nice units and hunts in the past. Self found my first antelope hunt and was...
Hunting next year 2023 - guided, should be a very easy hunt. Have done DIY and antelope are fun.
Anyway - this is the last hunt and I'm 99.9% sure will come home with a buck.
Have a 160-inch set of muley antlers, skull plate hanging in the peak of raised ceiling, want to put his antelope...
So - want to go 2023 to AK.
One-time Bucket List trip and vaca with wife.
Hoping to book it before too long.
Wanting to do some more serious research than looking at the ads and reviews online. yeah, it's something but tough to make a decision off a one-page ad and glowing reviews of...
I'm looking for something easy to sip and savor.
Would like a caramel/vanilla/nut/oak kind of thing.
We primarily drink whiskey/bourbon (Jack, G Jack, 4 Roses, Makers Mark, W Turkey, etc.) and a few other things - brandy is nice but I don't want it that sweet.
Tried a scotch last night and...
