    Sleeping bag question

I would think you would be fine for any of the early season hunts for the states mentioned. It is always good to have a safety margin though, for that freak temp swing. If you sleep cold go warmer, if you sleep warm you can get away with more. It really comes down to you and how you sleep.

30 EE / SO 6man / SO Lrg Stove Test

I personally run a 20* quilt most of the fall, but am looking to pickup a 0* too.

30 EE / SO 6man / SO Lrg Stove Test

Food for thought. Breathing into your quilt / bag collects moisture and reduces the insulating capabilities. Even with super dooper water resistant down and synthetics. Your body already puts off moisture when you sleep, breathing into the bag adds a lot more unnecessary moisture to deal with...

Backpack Month: Review of Stone Glacier's Sky 7400 + a chance to win one!

Thanks, Count me in the lucky camp as I don't have issues. Isn't Kurt awesome at listening to his customers and quickly making adjustments where necessary.

Backpack Month: Review of Stone Glacier's Sky 7400 + a chance to win one!

My one real complaint with the Sky 7400 was the chest strap. It would twist slightly or come off the sliders if I was not careful with it. I'm not sure how this could be improved, but I was able to overcome the issues, it just required me to pay more attention to the sliding connections...

Yep. Not bad but not great. I'd like to them have a lot of photos if they are going to make it mandatory.

Salt Lake City - What to do/What to see?

Not sure if you'll see this or not as you are starting your trip. But if you want a chance to see where someone will pay 390k to hunt a mulie go to Antelope Island. As mentioned by khun4, Antelope Island is a cool spot. You could literally spend all your free time there wildlife viewing...

    What does $390,000 buy?

No hunting pressure, only two tags a year starting a few years ago. Before that it was closed to hunting for a long time.

    Recommend a bivy?

I've used a large wide Bristlecone for several season. It is a good bivy of fine craftmanship. The Katabatic Gear has plenty of space and breaths about the same as any other bivy of similar specs. Sometimes I have had a little condensation. Nothing bag saturating and in those instances I...

    Stone glacier vs Exo mountain

The Exo looked well constructed and had thought out features like bottom compression straps that don't compress your water bottle on the side, making it unusable. Shoulder straps are now attached via velcro, instead of directly to the titanium frame. Obviously I have no idea on real life...

    Stone glacier vs Exo mountain

Approach, Solo, and Sky 7400. I like all three a lot and that bag stable has me covered for nearly any scenario. The Archer looks interesting thought. On a side note, I saw Steve and the 2015 Exo tonight. The pack looks nice. I didn't feel the need to try it on with weight in it after my...

    Stone glacier vs Exo mountain

From my experience the straps are a HUGE asset on the SG packs. I've owned and/or packed with most of the best packs (until I got my SG a couple years ago) and feel that the SG straps provide the best factory compression out there. I recently ordered the two different accessory strap sets from...
