So at the end of this month I'm going to be in Salt Lake City for a few days. I'm not going to have a ton of time, but I definitely want to make the most of the time that I will be there. My question is, what would you guys/gals recommend that I do or see while I'm in town? Also, feel free to throw out any restaurant recommendations as I'm always up for a good meal. Thanks in advance for your input, it's greatly appreciated.

I also would suggest a trip downtown to see temple square. It is pretty cool if you like architecture and history. That is something you wont see anywhere else.

Visit Temple Square.
Bighorn and other wildlife viewing on Antelope Island.
Drive on the Great Salt Flats, no speed limit, not sure what conditions are like in the winter.
Tour the Kennecott mine.
Visit Camofire, Badlands, or Black Diamond corporate headquarters and stores.

I don't know if you're into planes, but Hill Air Force Base has an awesome aerospace musueum. If it's not free, it only costs a few bucks to get in and they have tons of great stuff in there.
Temple square is always a solid choice
Cruise around City Creek
Get a haircut and a straight razor shave from Ray's Barbershop downtown!

If you are into archery, the Easton Archery plant is in SLC and they give tours. I have a call in to them to see if they still do it and to see how to get on one of the tours. I'll get back to you when I hear something.

Thanks to everyone has posted so far. Lots of good ideas here. I'm gonna try to squeeze in as much as possible. The hunting expo mentioned by muleman looks like a good time, but unfortunately I'll be in town the 24th-27th.

Agree with Ty77 Scheels is much better. i always go to Squatters and get a pizza and it's a cool little pub if you like drinks. Smith and Edwards is a neat store, any thing you could want you just have to find it.

Not sure if you'll see this or not as you are starting your trip. But if you want a chance to see where someone will pay 390k to hunt a mulie go to Antelope Island.

As mentioned by khun4, Antelope Island is a cool spot. You could literally spend all your free time there wildlife viewing. Including looking for California or Rocky Mountain (depending on your belief) Bighorn Sheep.

If you ski than I would go skiing for sure. Depending on the weather the ice climbing can be great. Snow shoeing and or back country skiing around Mt Timpanogas can be fun as well. Mt Olympus is a great hike or snowshoe real close to downtown .

Thanks for all the input guys. The dynamics of my trip changed a bit, so I didn't get to see as much as I wanted. I was actually in town for a job interview on Wednesday and on Thursday morning I was offered the position, so it went from sight seeing to apartment hunting real quick. I can't wait to come west finally it's been a dream of mine for a long time. If anyone from the SLC area has any good apartment suggestions I'm all ears.
