    Recommend some hunting podcasts

How did “for sure, for sure” end up in the land of hunting podcasts. Joe Rogan has a hunting dedicated podcast episode maybe once a month. Always worth a listen, in my opinion. Meateater. Kifarucast. Jay Scott, but the audio production is pretty poor.

    Colorado hunting atlas

While discussing accuracy. How accurate have others found the atlas to be when it comes to layers showing summer concentration, resident population, migration corridor, etc?

    Classified Ads $5 lowball offers

Yes! That always gets me too. What other forms of currency does this person usually use? Like I’m going to accept 3 beaver pelts or a barrel of salted pork?

I have had this experience before. I stick with the chips now, they have never left me hanging like the app.

    Pine creek unit oregon

Give it a go. Explore it. Theres cooler temps in the higher elevation portions or near the river. The wolves have been putting a dent in populations in those units but they cant eat them all. I wouldnt expect a trophy and I would move on several miles if you do locate wolves.

    Cot for truck camping

Byer of maine makes quality stuff. Cabelas brand has some. Hard to beat a military cot design for durability. They are a little noisy. I wouldn’t call it cheap they are $100. Ive seen some deals on cots on Craigslist few times. Somebody buys a trailer they start selling tents, cots, water jugs.

    Intentionally Camping near other hunters

Whoever gets there first. If its important get in there and set up a camp/tent/trailer the weekend before or get there three four days before others show up.

    Intentionally Camping near other hunters

I dont mind talking to a group but usually everybody's sheepish about giving up info and plans. At least early on in a season. I don’t want to camp within sight of another camp. Im talking about forested land. I prefer not to hear another camp either but if its reasonable I dont mind much.

Best place for hunting paper maps

The fold up Nat Geo trail maps are pretty good for about 12$ and they have maps for most of Colorado.

    Yeti, RTIC, ORCA, what????

I’ve got good stuff to say about Yeti and Canyon. The technology is out there and theyre all making a very similar product. Good advice I got was pick a size then look for the features you want amongst the different brands and then prices from there. Drain plug location and number, shape, handle...

    Truck maintenance before hunting trips

Lesson learned. Zip tie a spare key up on frame in case you lock keys in cab far from any town. Cheaper than the used windows out of junkyard for about $80. Chipped keys can be expensive if programmed. A plain old $4 hardware store cut key will work to open a door. Or be used as a template in...

    Activists draw WY Grizz tags

If they want to buy a license and tag god bless em. Its money in. Its one less person out in the field. Its one less animal harvested, likely upping the tag quotas for next year. They’re not out in the field being obnoxious or ruining my good time.

Mystery Ranch Cabinet - Daypack Lid

I found one on ebay after watching for weeks. I used it once and decided it wasn’t useful. Not a good purchase. I now use it for travel to keep shower and shave stuff in.

Low medium or high scope rings

DCB words it well. I would like to add ring height and length of pull should both be considered when buying/building/setting up a rifle. If you’ve got a long neck consider tall rings. Same thing with stubby arms you may wamt lower. I used to hunt with a full size guy who looked like T-Rex with...

Idaho dgf maps or any other printed maps

Baseimage. Net makes outstanding hunting atlases. They focus on Oregon and Alaska game units. You can get them to do custom atlases as well. I prefer a good atlas over a map. They’re about 60 pr 70$ but absolutely worth it in my opinion. BigSkyMaps makes Idaho gmu maps. They’re adequate, not bad.
