    Multi-Season Elk tag Washington?

You couldn’t pay me to hunt East side general season. I’m pretty well convinced guys set up elk camp in east side units just to get away from their wives for the week. I would hunt the west side and put in for east side tags.

120 grain Hammer Hunter VS 120 grain Barnes TTSX

This particular bullet (120gr) is sort of the exception. From what I understand, silhouette shooters asked Nosler to beef up the jackets to help with knocking over targets. My oldest daughter shoots them in her 7mm-08 and they’re accurate and deadly. Her buck this year was taken at 70yds...

    270 win. Swift A-Frame Load

Find a way to get some RL-26 if you can. It’s magic for the ol’ 270win. I’m getting just over 1/2” groups at 3100fps with 150gr AccuBonds from my Sako a7, and I don’t even have much time into development.

    Fierce Firearms Disaster

Oh man, you got me there! I guess consistent 3 shot 1” groups at 400yds doesn’t count :( and that was even with 200gr AB’s at 3145fps. I haven’t taken any photos for a long time, since I developed the load 4 years ago, so I can’t produce photos. I started shooting 215 Bergers last weekend and...

    Fierce Firearms Disaster

My buddy and I both have Fury’s and both had the dipped coating coming off our stocks in places. Fierce sent us out the now standard black stock with gray webbing, without hassle. That’s been a few years ago though. I used to recommend Fierce to anyone in the market for a good rifle but after...

    Fierce Firearms Disaster

To be fair, it didn’t fall out due to recoil. The mag release is easy somewhat easy to accidentally pull if you’re not conscious of it (Sako design and mags). It’s happened to me once in like 4 years, so that just shows what kind of clowns these guys are....and they left it in the video lol

    Fierce Firearms Disaster

FWIW, I know they were originally using Pac-Nor barrels but they may have switched to someone else, or even in-house after Pac-Nor burned down. I have a Fierce Fury in 300RUM and it’s a tack driver, but I would probably go with a Seekins over Fierce if I had to choose today.

    Is a meat grinder necessary?

If you do an even halfway thorough job of butchering, you’ll have lots of small bits and strips of meat that can really has no application other than becoming ground. I can’t even imagine not having a grinder. We use deer/elk for any recipe that calls for burger.

WTB Wtb prepped brass, 308 and 223

Terminal Munitions is a good place to get both, especially when they run a sale and/or free shipping.

    Washington Elk

I guess I’m the exception. I moved to eastern Idaho (absolute god’s country) from western WA, after living there my entire 41 years and will be returning yearly for elk. I love my coastal rosies.

Just so you know, that is a stainless nitride barrel. Much more corrosion resistance than regular stainless.

    Muzzleloader Newbie Question - Load

I’ll tell you what works with your particular musket. A Barnes 290gr T-EZ, 100gr by vol (74gr by weight) of BH 209, and a Fed 209A primer. Recoil is manageable but I wouldn’t want to shoot it all day. I chrono’d this load at 1750ish and we’ve a good handful of Roosevelt bulls since switching to...

180g Barnes TTSX Loads for 300WM

We got my cousins fierce edge shooting excellent groups with 79.5gr of H1000 180gr ttsx WLRM primers in Norma brass. Avg velocity was 3003fps. He’s killed a couple bears and a couple bucks with it in the last 2 years. One shot kills.

    Palmsaver Missing

I wouldn’t worry about it. I bought my CVA optima for $100 used 4 years ago and it didn’t have the PalmSaver. If you have a good brass range rod( highly recommend) you should really only use the factory rod if you’re reloading after a shot at an animal.
